All of our labs have recently undergone a $300,000 renovation. Thanks in large part to the generosity of Collector Foundation every lab is clean, well lit and well equipped.

Restoration Technology students learn to use modern paint materials in order to produce authentic looking restorations. This “French Blue” 1917 Willys-Knight is receiving some final attention from the paint class before it moves to the trim class for interior work.

After receiving new brakes and other chassis-related work, this low-mileage 1968 Camaro RS Convertible is ready to be reunited with a rebuilt, numbers matching 327c.i. engine.

These Restoration Technology students are applying the final finish on this all black 1936 Buick.

The Assembly class is working on a 1929 Ford Model A Woody Station Wagon (in the foreground) and is also in the process of reassembling a 1936 Buick.

In the machining class students learn how to precision measure, operate a manual lathe, and operate a manual milling machine. The CNC milling machine in the background was recently donated by Fadal Machining Centers, LLC and will expand our in-house machining capabilities.

These students are learning to lead. Other skills taught in this class include TIG, oxy-acetylene, and MIG welding, English wheeling, and hand forming using a shot bag.

Basic woodworking skills are essential to working on many antique automobiles which contain many wood parts. The body on the right is a 1929 Model A Woody.

Sewing basics are taught in the Trim Lab. The students then apply these skills to the antique and classic cars that McPherson College restores.
