Students in choir perform at homecoming and sing major choral works and a variety of Christmas repertoire in December. Each spring the choir tours to churches and schools in neighboring states, culminating with a home concert. The year concludes with an informal concert featuring contemporary literature.
For 30 years the choir has traveled and performed in Europe every four to five years. Singers, representing the diversity of the student body, have fun performing together; they also contribute to campus culture and co-curricular life. Choir scholarships are available and 6 hours of Arts/Humanities (general education) credit may be earned.
McPherson College Singers is a select mixed vocal ensemble chosen by audition from members of the McPherson College Choir. The group is designed to give students opportunity to sing and perform some of the great vocal chamber music including Renaissance madrigals and motets, standard classics, contemporary works, Broadway, vocal jazz, and other vocal music art forms. Much of the repertoire is performed a capella. Singers is a quality ensemble that is frequently invited to perform both on- and off-campus.
