| Financial Need
Student financial aid programs are a valuable financial resource
for eligible students to access post-secondary education; however,
families are still responsible for assisting with their students'
total educational cost. Financial Need is calculated by this standard federal formula:
Cost
of Attendance (COA)*
- Expected Family Contribution (EFC)*
= Financial Need
* Cost of Attendance:
• Tuition and fees
• Room and board
• Books, supplies, equipment, transportation, & misc
personal expenses
• Loan fees
• Study Abroad costs
• Dependent care expenses
• Expenses associated with a disability
• Expenses for Cooperative Education Program |
* Expected Family Contribution
What the federal
government expects the student and his/her family to contribute
toward educational expenses. This amount is calculated from the
information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA). As this form requires financial information from
the previous year, we recognize that special circumstances can
and do affect a family's ability to provide financial support.
If you or your family have experienced significant changes in
income or assets, please contact the Financial Aid Office. A counselor
will be happy to answer any questions you may have. |
