Journalism Scholarship
McPherson College's communications program will award an unlimited
number of journalism scholarships, ranging from $500-4,000, to qualified
students in spring. Once the scholarships are granted, they may
be renewed for three years, contingent upon the recipient's full
involvement in student publications.
Students who would like to be considered for a co-curricular Journalism Scholarship
should complete the following steps:

or by email at admiss@mcpherson.edu
to indicate your interest in attending Journalism Scholarship
Day.
- Complete an application for admission to McPherson College.
An online application is
available here.
- A one-page introduction summarizing your journalism experience
to date and your goals and motivations for continuing your involvement
in student publications in college, and
- A letter of nomination from a teacher or counselor.
- Begin compiling a portfolio
to submit during your interview.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: (approx. 90 minutes)
- Personal Interview
- News writing exercise
- Copy editing exercise
- Portfolio presentation (see below)
- Must be completed prior to February 16, 2006
