Journalism Scholarship Portfolio
Journalism Scholarship applicants should bring a portfolio representing
the breadth and quality of their journalism skills when they visit
campus for their scholarship audition. The portfolio may be a
traditional paper portfolio or an electronic portfolio submitted on CD or
DVD.
The portfolio should include the following:
- A one-page introduction summarizing your journalism experience to date and your goals and
motivations for continuing your involvement in student publications in college.
- A letter of nomination from a teacher or counselor.
- Selected samples of your best work. These may include
- stories, columns, or editorials that you have written
- photos you have taken
- page layouts or infographics that you have designed
- multimedia stories that you have produced.
