Theatre Scholarship
Students who would like to be considered for a Theatre Scholarship
should complete the following steps before scholarship day:
- Contact McPherson College by phone at 800-365-7402
or by email at admiss@mcpherson.edu
to indicate your interest in attending Theatre Scholarship Day.
- Complete an application for admission to McPherson College.
An online application is
available here.
- A letter of recommendation from one or more of your high school
theatre teachers. This letter should include comments that pertain
to theatre skills, your ability to be successful within theatre
at the college level, your overall character and your academic
performance at your high school.
- A written statement from you as to why you are choosing theatre
as a major or interest – tell us about your personal and
professional goals.
If interested in acting, please provide the following:
- A resume of productions and performances in which you have been
involved.
- Two contrasting performance pieces in a two-minute time frame.
If interested in stage production or directing, please provide
the following:
- A resume of productions and performances in which you have been
involved.
- A portfolio of your work.
Scholarship amounts awarded will be based on the quality of performance
or portfolio, overall academic performance, and strength of recommendation
from a high school theatre teacher.
