Alumni Night
February 9, 2008
McPherson, KS
McPherson College welcomed alumni and their families back to campus to participate in “RED OUT” on Saturday, February 9 as part of the annual winter Alumni Night. Admissions staff met with 30 perspective students during a campus visit day earlier in the day.
Alumni had the opportunity to tour the campus and shop in the bookstore prior to attending the Women’s and Men’s basketball games against the University of Saint Mary. A chili and soup supper was held in the small gym during the evening for all attendees.
Over 50 area children who participated in the morning’s Cheerleading and Dance Clinic, sponsored by the McPherson College Cheerleading and Dance Line teams, performed along side the cheer and dance teams during half-time of the women’s game.
Introduction of the Alumni Board of Directors, recognition of alumni by decades, alumni drawings, and group recognition of former MC basketball players and coaches occurred throughout the evening.
Men’s basketball player, Zach Kimble, a senior accounting major from Mulvane, KS was recognized as the second recipient of the Pat Noyes Men’s Basketball Scholarship. Presenting the scholarship to Kimble were Noyes’ parents, Dan Sr. and Mary Noyes.
A large crowd was on hand to see the lady bulldogs beat St. Mary’s with a 72-59 win. The men’s game ended with an overtime loss of three points, 55-52.
The evening ended with a post-game reception and reunion gathering for former bulldog basketball players and coaches, held in the small gym of the Sport Center.
