The McPherson Water Park proved to be a popular place for McPherson College alumni and their families to cool off on Sunday, August 12. The hot August day drew over 135 MC Alumni Family Day participants to the cooling waters. Additional alums and college faculty and staff joined the group in the evening for a barbeque picnic at Lakeside Park, across the street.
Gold Key Event at Kansas Underground Salt Museum

Members of the Gold Key class and their spouses or guests had the opportunity to tour the Kansas Underground Salt Museum in Hutchinson, KS on Tuesday, July 10. Several men in the group reminisced about class field trips to the salt mines when they were in college, while others recalled days of working in salt mines at Kanopolis and Hutchinson. After the tour the group enjoyed visiting together over pie and coffee at the Carriage Crossing restaurant in nearby Yoder.

Nearly 80 MC alumni and their families attended a Kansas City T-Bones baseball game in the KS Speedway and Legends area of Kansas City, KS on Sunday afternoon, July 8. Despite the heat, young children to seniors enjoyed a barbeque tailgate supper, visiting, and the ball game together.

A luncheon for McPherson College alumni and their families was held on Sunday, July 1 in Cleveland, Ohio during the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference. Approximately 135 people attended the luncheon. Director of alumni development, Sally Nelson, welcomed guests and shared current alumni happenings, and president Ron Hovis gave a brief update of the college. Attendees watched a video montage of student life and campus activities from the past 2006-07 school year.

McPherson College alumni and family members enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor and indoor fun playing miniature golf, laser tag, go-karts, mini bowling, bumper cars, kiddie rides, paddles boats and video arcade games at Fort Fun in Ft. Collins, CO on Saturday, June 9. Fort Fun is owned and operated by MC alum, Jan Esgar McClure ’84, and her husband, Jeffrey. Jan and college president, Ron Hovis, Robin Hovis, and alumni director, Sally Nelson, were on hand throughout the afternoon to visit with alumni and their families in the hospitality pavilion.
