Alumni Legacy Scholarship Guidelines

Purpose:

1. To encourage alumni and friends to provide financial support to the college by offering an outlet that would affect students directly.
2. To encourage children of alumni to attend McPherson College by offering a form of financial assistance specific to that group.

Criteria:

1. Scholarship shall be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
2. Children of McPherson College alumni (“Alumni” as defined according to the Alumni Association Guidelines.)
3. Must be a full-time student in good standing with the college.

Disbursement:

Three (3) $400 scholarships shall be awarded yearly to eligible incoming students starting in Fall 2006. In Fall 2009, Twelve (12) $400 scholarships will be awarded. This assumes a $25,000 starting balance by Fall 2006 and a $100,000 balance by Fall 2009. However, awards may vary depending on fund balance. In case fund balance does not support the above assumption, the McPherson College financial aid office will determine the scholarship disbursement.

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship shall adhere to the same guidelines as all endowed scholarship funds at McPherson College.
