Signings
The following is a list of all signings for the 2005-2006
season starting with the most recent signing.
Lamar's
Hadachek signs with Mac basketball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Nathan “Nate” Hadachek of Arapahoe, Colo.
, to a basketball letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.
The 6'6”, 200-pound played
the last two years at Lamar Community College following his 2003
graduation from Cheyenne Wells High School.
Hadachek was an all-state
selection in basketball and football, plus a state champion in the
high jump for Cheyenne Wells HS.
As a senior at CWHS, Nate
averaged 22 points per game, and had a personal best of 6'6” in
the high jump.
During his sophomore season
at Lamar CC, Hadachek averaged seven points a game.
“We are pleased to have Nate
join the Bulldog basketball program,” said Roger Trimmell, McPherson
College men's basketball coach. “Nate was a starter at Lamar Community
College this past season. At 6'5”, he brings an aggressive defensive
attitude and is a 3-point scoring threat.”
“We look forward to Nate
providing an immediate impact to the Dogball program.”
Nate is the son of Jim and
Marla Hadachek of Arapahoe, Colo.
He plans to major in business
at McPherson College .

Healy's
Johnson signs with Bulldogs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Mark Johnson of Healy , Kan. , to a basketball
letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.
The 6'6”, 225-pound Johnson
averaged 19 points and 11.9 rebounds per game his senior season
at Healy High School . He was named to the Hutchinson News Class
1A All-Area first team, Garden City Telegram All-Area first team,
and the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-State third team.
Johnson received All-Western Kansas Liberty League first team honors
his final three prep seasons.
Johnson participated in the
Central Kansas All-Star Game hosted by McPherson College in March,
scoring 11 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing off three assists.
He also participated in the Northwest Kansas All-Star Game.
“We are extremely pleased
to announce Mark's signing,” said Roger Trimmell, McPherson College
men's basketball coach. “Mark brings a big presence inside, but
he also has the ability to shoot from the perimeter.”
“Former Bulldog Tim Herrs
was Mark's coach and was instrumental over the past two years in
encouraging Mark to attend McPherson. An important piece in the
recruiting process are our alumni, and Tim was very helpful in bringing
McPherson to Mark's attention.”
“Mark is an excellent student,
and is also the recipient of a McPherson College science award.”
Johnson was coached his senior
year by Ben Cramer after playing for Tim Herrs, McPherson College
'99, earlier in his prep career.
Mark is the son of Walter
and Georgia Johnson of Healy , Kan.

NOC-Tonkawa's
Thor Rooks signs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Mykel “Thor” Rooks of Mannford, Okla., to
a basketball letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.

Thor
Rooks' signing of his McPherson College letter of intent was a team
event at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. Joining in were
(front) Thor and McPherson College head coach Roger Trimmell along
with (back, left) Marverick teammates Kendall Smith and Tyler Hutch,
NOC assistant coach Ryan Paul, and teammate LaMont George.
The 6'4”, 205-pound Rooks
has played the last two years at Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa
for coach Mick Weiberg after earning all-state honors at Mannford
High under Randy Upshaw.
Rooks was named to the Oklahoma
Basketball Coaches Association All-State team after averaging 15
points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists as a senior at Mannford.
“I am very pleased to announce
the signing of Thor,” said Roger Trimmell, McPherson College men's
basketball coach. “He will step in and make an immediate impact
on our program.”
“This has been a two-year
process as we actively recruited Thor as a senior at Mannford at
the recommendation of Josh Laney, our student assistant who is also
from Mannford. We stayed in contact with Thor throughout his two
years at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.”
“Thor is a (All-KCAC first
team) Brian Hooks type of player. He may not score quite as much
as Brian right away, but he does the little things, plays had defense,
boxes out, gets after folks.”
“At 6'4”, Thor is very sound
in the fundamentals of the game and will give us a good inside-outside
presence.”
Thor is the son of Jeanette
and Micheal Rooks of Mannford, Okla.
He plans to major in education
at McPherson College .

St.
John's Burgan inks with McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Trey Burgan of St. John, Kam., to a basketball
letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.

Trey Burgan in the signing of his McPherson College letter of intent

The 6'0”, 155-pound Burgan
participated in the recent Central Kansas All-Star basketball game,
hosted by McPherson College, scoring 11 points while dishing off
two assists and coming away with a pair of steals for the inning
Red team.
Burgan averaged 24.3 points,
six rebounds, and three assists a game during his senior season
at St. John High School , under coach Clint Kinnamon, a 1990 graduate
of McPherson College.
Trey was a three-time All-Central
Prairie first team honoree and named Class 1A All-State following
his junior and senior seasons.
“Trey will be a nice addition
to our program,” said Roger Trimmell, McPherson College men's basketball
coach. “He can shoot the ball very well, and comes fundamentally
sound from a good high school program under coach (Clint) Kinnamon.”
At McPherson College , Burgan
will join fellow St. John Tiger, junior-to-be, Travis Allen as part
of the Bulldog roundball program.
“I am pleased that we continue
to get good student-athletes from area schools. St. John has sent
us several good student-athletes over the years, and we're looking
for our St. John inside-outside combination of Travis (Allen) and
Trey to make a major contribution for us.”
Named the “most valuable
performer” of St. John's mid-season basketball tournament, Burgan
also qualified for the state track championships his junior year
in the high jump.
“I really felt comfortable
here,” said Burgan when making his commitment. “I enjoyed playing
with the guys when I came over, and I like coach Trimmell.”
Trey is the son of Mike and
Diane Burgan of St. John , Kan. He plans to major in computer science
and business at McPherson College.
Trey's father and mother
graduated from and participated in football and basketball, respectively,
at Bethel College in the early 1980's.

Miller
signs for basketball and track
McPherson College has announced
the signing of Tyler Miller of Macksville , Kan. , to letters of
intent for basketball and track & field the 2005-2006 school
year prior to the Central Kansas All-Star basketball game.

Joining
Tyler Miller in his signing with McPherson College were (front,

The 5'10”, 150-pound Miller
played in the recent all-star basketball game hosted by McPherson
College , scoring six points, grabbing five rebounds, including
three offensive, and dishing off two assists for the winning Red
team.
As a junior, Miller received
honorable mention All-State honors in basketball from the Topeka
Capital, Hutchinson News, and was named to the honorable mention
Golden Belt All-Area squad.
This past basketball season,
Miller averaged 15.6 points, three assists and three steals per
game for Mustangs, which finished third in the Class 1A state tournament.
“ Tyler is a quick combo
guard that can penetrate or pull up and hit the outside shot,” said
Roger Trimmell, McPherson College basketball coach. “He is an unselfish
player that was the catalyst for a Macksville squad that finished
third in the Class 1A state tourney. We look forward to having Tyler
join our Dogball program.”
“ Tyler is a versatile athlete
that can excel in almost any sport,” said Dave Smith, McPherson
College head track & field coach. “He is a competitor that loves
and respects the sport and competes on the highest level. Tyler
is the kind of citizen that true teams are made of.”
“We expect Tyler to complete
a great senior year with a great track season, and we look forward
to having his competitiveness and attitude as part of our Bulldog
track and field program next year.”
A three-sport, four-year
letter winner at Macksville High, Miller has been selected to play
in the Kansas 8-man football all-star game in June. He was a unanimous
All-Central Prairie League first team selection as a defensive back.
He was also an honorable mention All-Southwest Kansas and Golden
Belt All-Area as both a split end and defensive back. As a senior,
he had 25 receptions for 542 yards and six touchdowns.
Tyler is the son of Wayne
and Yolette Miller, and Terry and Dan Grizzell of Macksville , Kan.
He plans to major in business and graphic design at McPherson College.
