No. 10 Builders sizzle, 88-66

McPherson College's women found out why the Southwestern Moundbuilders are ranked 10th in the country Thursday night at the Sport Center.

The Moundbuilders came out on fire in the half, hitting 19 of 35 shots, including 8 of 16 from 3-point, to build up a 51-33 lead on their way to an 88-66 victory.

Southwestern finished the game making 13 of 28 treys in a simply stunning shooting performance.

Andrea Mohr led Southwestern with 18 points, while Whitney Corley came off the bench for 17, including five treys. Missy Lungren and Karah Covey also hit for double figures with 14 and 11 points respectively.

Mac was led by Erica Alvarez, who had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Brenna Schierling scored 12, while Crystal Richardson and Andi Wilder added 10 apiece.

Mac finished the first half of KCAC play with a 3-6 record after winning their first two games and is now 9-8 overall. The Bulldogs play Saturday at Bethel, a team they defeated earlier this year.
