Suiter
named NAIA Basketball All-American Scholar-Athlete
Junior guard Abby
Suiter was recently named a 2006 Daktronics-NAIA All-American
Scholar-Athlete. Suiter is a 2003 graduate of Saint John High
School.
2006 was her first year of
eligibility and selection. Criteria include an academic standing
of junior or above with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Abby
Suiter (JR, Saint John, Kan., Saint John HS, Elementary
Education) played in all 27 games, starting three, during the 2005-2006
season. Suiter averaged 3.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists
in 18.6 minutes per game. Her 44 steals ranked second among the
Lady Bulldogs.
Suiter's high
games were 10 points against Tabor College , four rebounds at Avila
University , and four assists in the Lady Bulldogs' KCAC tournament
win over the University of Saint Mary.

have Abby receive this honor,” added J.D. Gravina, McPherson College
head women's coach. “She exemplifies the qualities of the student-athlete
that McPherson College is working to develop.”

basketball court and in the classroom.”

Fiorenzi
named to KCAC All-Freshman team
McPherson College 's Angelina
Fiorenzi, freshman forward from Bishop, Texas , has been named to
the 2006 KCAC (Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) All-Freshman
women's basketball team in a vote by the conference's coaches.
Angelina,
a 2005 graduate of Robstown High School , averaged 6.9 points and
4.6 rebounds for the 2006 Lady Bulldogs, while playing in all 27
games.
“It's a really nice honor
for Angelina to be one of five freshmen in the conference to make
the All-Freshman team,” said J.D. Gravina, McPherson College head
women's basketball coach. “She really came on throughout the second
half of the season, scoring in double figures nine of our final
14 games.”
“She was a big part of our
improvement in the second half of the season.”
“Our improvement is encouraging
for the future of our program, and I expect Angelina to continue
to get better throughout her career at McPherson College .”
Fiorenzi started two games
for the Lady Bulldogs and was their leading scorer four times and
leading rebounder seven. Angelina's top performances were a 16-point,
14-rebound double-double at the University of Saint Mary . She scored
in double-figures nine times.
Fiorenzi garnered first team
All-District honors her final three years at Robstown HS. She also
received All-South Texas second team and All-Metro third team honors
as a senior for coach Kellie Ihler.
Angelina is the daughter
of Norma and David Fiorenzi of Bishop, Texas . Jennifer is majoring
in communications and journalism.
