The following is a list of signings for the 2005-2006 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Fiorenzi
signs with Mac basketball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Angelina Fiorenzi of Bishop, Texas, and Robstown
High School to a basketball letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school
year.
The 5'10” Fiorenzi was a
first team All-District selection for three seasons, and also received
second team All-South Texas and third team All-Metro honors. As
a senior, Angelina averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds a game for
coach Kellie Ihler.
“Angelina is a great addition
to an already strong recruiting class,” added JD Gravina, head coach
of the Lady Bulldogs' basketball team. “Her strength allows her
to play even taller than her 5'10” frame allows. Her work ethic
in the weight room, on the court, and in the classroom makes her
a person bound for success.”
Angelina is the daughter
of David and Norma Fiorenzi of Bishop, Texas. She plans to major
in communications/journalism at McPherson College.

Steffens
inks with Mac basketball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kiara Steffens of Dighton, Kan., to a basketball
letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.

HS head girls' basketball coach.
The 5'11” Steffens played
in the Central Kansas All-Star basketball game hosted by McPherson
College in March scoring 4 points and grabbing 2 rebounds.
Kiara averaged 14.5 points
and 9 rebounds per game during her senior season at Dighton High
School for coach Amy James.
Steffens was twice named
to the Santa Fe Trail League first team in basketball as well as
to the Hutchinson News and Garden City Telegram honorable mention
teams as a senior.
Selected as the Hornets most
valuable player as a junior and senior, Steffens was also selected
as Dighton's most inspirational player her final season.
Steffens was a four year
letter winner in both basketball and volleyball for Dighton High
School .
“Kiara will be a great addition
to our front court,” added J.D. Gravina, head coach of the Lady
Bulldogs' basketball team. “She comes from a successful prep program,
so she knows how to win.”
“Kiara is an extremely hard
worker, which will not only allow her to excel on the court, but
also in the classroom.”
Kiara is the daughter of
Earl and Kathy Steffens of Dighton, Kan. She plans to major in pre-dentistry
at McPherson College .

Inman's Plett signs
with Mac basketball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Allison Plett of Inman, Kan., to a basketball
letter of intent for the 2005-2006 school year.

Joining
Ali Plett for her letter of intent signing are (left) LaMonte Rothrock,
McPherson College athletic director, and her mother Linda Plett.
The 5'2” Plett played in
the Central Kansas All-Star basketball game hosted by McPherson
College in March scoring 8 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing
off 3 assists.
During her senior season
at Inman High School under coach Jeff Friesen, Ali averaged 9 points,
3 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Plett twice was named to
the Heart of America League honorable mention squad in basketball
as well as to the Southwest Kansas honorable mention team as a senior.
An all-around athlete, Ali
has lettered in volleyball and track as well as basketball at Inman
High.
“Ali is a quick, defensive
minded guard who will compliment our up-tempo playing style,” added
JD Gravina, head coach of the Lady Bulldogs' basketball team. “Her
ball-handling skills would be an asset to any college program. I
feel very good about her commitment to our program.”
Allison is the daughter of
Linda Plett and Gary Plett of Inman , Kan. She plans to major in
psychology at McPherson College.

Miller
signs with Mac track & basketball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Katherine Miller of Topeka , Kan. , and Topeka
High School to track & field and basketball letters of intent
for the 2005-2006 school year.
The 6'1” Miller played in
the Central Kansas All-Star basketball game hosted by McPherson
College in March.
Miller has been a four-year
letter winner in the weight events for at Topeka High track &
field coach Gary Martin.
“ Katie is great gal that
works hard and has a super attitude,” said Dave Smith, McPherson
College head track coach. “When I was in Topeka for her signing,
everyone said how much they will miss her. She is willing to do
whatever it takes to contribute to the team. She will be a great
fit for our campus. She is eager to get started and so are we to
have her!”
“I am extremely happy that
Katie has decided to commit to McPherson,” added JD Gravina, head
coach of the Lady Bulldogs' basketball team. “Her height will help
us be more competitive with the top teams in the conference.”
“She is a strong student
and has a pleasant personality which will make her fit in with team
very well.”
Katie is the daughter of
Lee and Doris Miller of Topeka , Kan.
