The following is a list of signings for the 07-08 school year starting with the most recent signing.
Shaffer
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Elizabeth Shaffer of Cascade, Colo., to a
cheerleading letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Betsy
Shaffer is joined by her parents David and Victoria Shaffer for
her letter of intent signing with McPherson College.
Shaffer has been cheerleading
for eight years. She was named an UCA All-Star as a junior and senior
at Manitou Springs, Colo., High School and was cheer captain for
two years.
As a senior, Betsy cheered
with the Colorado Elite Vipers, who placed second at nationals in
Anaheim, California.
“Betsy Shaffer will be a
wonderful addition to our team,” said McPherson College cheer/dance
coach Tia Leach. “She is a very talented base and I am sure she
will be great at learning transition stunts.”
“I am excited to have Betsy
as part of our team, not only because she is a good cheerleader,
but a good student as well. I am looking forward to coaching her
this next year!”
Betsy is the daughter of
David and Victoria Shaffer of Cascade, Colo. She plans to major
in Graphic Design/Marketing.

Alvarado
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Alyna Alvarado of Winfield, Kan., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Alyna
Alvarado is joined for her letter of intent signing by (left) her
father Frank Alvarado and McPherson College cheer/dance coach Tia
Leach.
Alvarado is a 2007 graduate
of Winfield High School where she was an All-American nominee for
three years under Arvilla Bennett.
“Alyna has had a lot of experience
as a flyer throughout her high school career,” said McPherson College
cheer/dance coach, Tia Leach. “Her ability to learn quickly and
to try anything will make her a great asset to the McPherson cheer
program.”
“Alyna's high school team
has competed in festivals throughout Kansas and I am sure she will
be a strong flyer at the collegiate level.”
“I am happy to have Alyna
on the team because she is a great cheerleader and a great student.
She will be part of our education program and is an extremely talented
artist who is interested in becoming an art teacher and cheer coach
in the future.”
Alyna is the daughter of
Frank Alvarado of Winfield, Kan.

Allen
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Emily Allen of Golden, Colo., and Alameda
High School to a cheerleading letter of intent for the 2007-2008
school year.

Emily
Allen is joined for her letter of intent signing by her parents
Eric Allen and DeElla Shellhorn-Allen.
Allen participated in cheerleading
as well as soccer for three years at Alameda High in Lakewood, Colo.
“I am excited to have Emily
on our team next year,” said McPherson College cheer/dance coach,
Tia Leach. “She is a bright, outgoing, and kind person who will
definitely bring a lot of personality to the team.”
“Emily is a talented flyer
and has a lot of experience flying different stunts at advanced
levels. She will be a good flyer at the collegiate level because
she is not afraid of pushing herself and learning new skills.”
A Presidential scholar at
McPherson College, Emily will major in elementary education.
Emily is the daughter of
Eric Allen and DeElla Shellhorn-Allen of Golden, Colo.

Cobble
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ryan Cobble of Newcastle, Okla., to cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Joining
Ryan for her letter of intent sigining were (back, left) best friend
Stephanie Bowen, Victoria Bowen, Newcastle United Methodist Church
youth leader Sabrina Martin, and Ryan's parents Tammie and Kelly
Cobble.
Cobble has cheered for
Newcastle High School for three years as well as participated in
basketball and track & field. She was named a NCA All-American
in 2006-2007.
The Newcastle HS cheer squad
placed third in Oklahoma 's Class 3A state competition after winning
its regional. In December 2006, the squad placed second at the NCA
High School Cheer Nationals in Dallas, Texas.
This past winter, Ryan was
part of the Newcastle HS basketball team that qualified for the
Class 3A state tournament.
“Ryan is a strong base with
lots of experience,” said McPherson College cheer/dance coach, Tia
Leach. “Our team consists of co-ed and all-girl stunting, and with
her basing ability she will be versatile as a middle flyer in co-ed
and a solid base in all-girl.”
“Ryan comes from a competitive
team and has a determination to make the team better.”
“I am happy Ryan has decided
to cheer for the Bulldogs next year.”
Ryan is the daughter of Kelly
and Tammie Cobble of Newcastle, Okla. Ryan plans to major in biochemistry
with a minor in psychology at McPherson College.

Patrick
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kelsie Patrick of Elizabeth, Colo., and Elbert
High School to a cheerleading letter of intent for the 2007-2008
school year.
Patrick
was a three-year cheerleader at Elbert High School. Kelsie was a
NCA All-American team selection her senior year after being an NCA
All-American nominee as a junior.
“Kelsie will be a great addition
to our team,” said McPherson College cheer/dance coach, Tia Leach.
“She has experience as both a flyer and a base, so her versatility
will be useful when changing stunts.”
“Kelsie is also a good dancer,
and I am sure she will be able to help choreograph and come up with
new idea for (dance) routines.”
“Kelsie is a kind individual
with a positive outlook and is very energetic. Her energy and enthusiasm
will make her a great crowd leader.”
Kelsie is the daughter of
Johnie Patrick of Elizabeth, Colo.

Andreesen
inks with McPherson cheer team
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Jennifer Andreesen of Falls City, Neb., to
a cheerleading letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.
Andreesen
was an All-American nominee and has placed first in state and national
cheer competitions.
“Jennifer will be a perfect
addition to our cheerleading team,” said McPherson College cheer/dance
coach Tia Leach. “ She comes from a competitive high school team
and knows first hand what it takes to be a good all-around athlete
and competitive cheerleader.”
“Jenny has a positive attitude
and I believe she will make a good leader for the group.”
“Jenny has amazing stunting
skills which will help improve our all-girl stunts and bring creative
ideas and transitions to the team.”
Jennifer is the daughter
of Arlan and Linda Andreesen of Falls City, Neb.

Forbes
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Tegan Forbes of Elkhart, Kan., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.
Forbes was named an American
Cheerleader's Association All-Star Tumbler and All-Star Jumper.

Tegan
Forbes is joined for her letter of intent signing by McPherson College
cheer coach Tia Leach.
Following her graduation
from Elkhart High School, Forbes cheered for two years at Dodge
City Community College. While at DCCC, Tegan also was a member of
the Dodge City Legend professional basketball team's dance team.
“Tegan is a wonderful match
for our program ,” said McPherson College cheer/dance coach Tia
Leach. “ I am always looking for great athletes who are great students
as well. Tegan definitely fills this role.”
“Tegan excels on and off
the sidelines. She is a well rounded individual with an outgoing
and upbeat personality.”
“Tegan's skills and experience
are exactly what our team needs. She is a strong flyer in both co-ed
and all-girl stunting as well as a talented gymnast.”
Tegan is the daughter of
Vince and Joyce Forbes of Elkhart , Kan.

Lubbers
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Eain Lubbers of Hutchinson, Kan., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.
Lubbers was also be participating
in football at McPherson College. He was an honorable mention All-Heart
of America League wide receiver for Hutchinson Trinity High School
last fall.
“Eain is an incredible athlete
and will be involved in both football and cheer,” said McPherson
College cheer/dance coach Tia Leach. “He is a strong gymnast and
a powerful stuntman. He definitely has a competitive edge
to make him successful at the collegiate level and he will continue
to set the bar high for other males looking into the program.”
“Not only is Eain a wonderful
athlete, but he has an easy going and fun personality, and knows
how to bring a team together in order to achieve a goal.”
“I am looking forward to
working with Eain, and am excited to see all he will bring to the
team.”
Eain is the son of Eddie
and Mary Lubbers of Hutchinsont, Kan.

Toews
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kristen Toews of Whitewater, Kan., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Kristen

Remington cheer coach, and her parents Theresa and Jeff Toews.
Toews was a four-year letter
winner in cheerleading as well as three-years in volleyball and
basketball at Whitewater-Remington High School .
Kristen has received All-American
cheerleading honors. She captained both the Remington volleyball
and cheer squads.
“I am pleased Kristen Toews
will be joining the McPherson College cheerleading team this fall,”
said Tia Leach, McPherson College cheer/dance coach. “Kristen is
a well rounded athlete with experience in several sports. Her athletic
ability will make her a great addition to our squad.”
“Kristen has a positive attitude
and is willing to go the extra mile to learn and perfect new skills.
I think she will have the opportunity to be a great leader for our
team.”
Kristen is the daughter of
Jeff and Theresa Toews of Whitewater Kan. She plans to major in
elementary education at McPherson College.

Dugger
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Nacole Dugger of Crescent, Okla., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Joining
Nacole Dugger (right) for her letter of intent signing are (left

and Carolyn Mosteller, McPherson College Admissions Counselor.
Dugger was a two-year letter
winner in cheerleading and played softball one season for Crescent
High School.
Nacole was a FCCLA local
and district officer and a member of the Crescent High student council.
“I am very excited to have
Nacole Duggar on our team this next year,” said Tia Leach, McPherson
College cheer/dance coach. “Nacole comes to us from Crescent, Oklahoma
, where she has cheered for her competitive high school team.”
“Nacole has lots of potential
in several areas of cheerleading. She is very versatile, and I think
she will make a great base and flyer for both all-girl and co-ed
stunting.”
Nacole is the daughter of
Karen McDowell of Crescent, Okla. She plans to major in accounting
and finance at McPherson College.

Deighton
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Leigh Ann Deighton of Meade, Kan., to a cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Leigh
Ann is joined for her letter of intent signing by her parents Dale
and Sara Deighton.
Deighton was participated
in volleyball, basketball, and track as well as cheerleading at
Meade High School .
Leigh Ann was selected a
Northwestern All-Star and a Directors Pick during her prep cheerleading
career.
“I am very excited to have
Leigh Ann join the McPherson College cheerleading squad,” said McPherson
College cheer/dance coach, Tia Leach. “She is a great athlete with
lots of enthusiasm and I think she will make a wonderful addition
to our team.”
“Leigh Ann is a strong athlete
and I think her experience in multiple sports and her experience
in cheer will help take our team to another level.”
“I am happy to have her on
the team because she also has a positive attitude and a deep dedication
to the sport.”
Leigh Ann is the daughter
of Dale and Sara Deighton of Meade, Kan. She plans to major in special
education at McPherson College.

Van
Sant signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Brittany Van Sant of Colorado Springs, Colo.,
and Doherty High School to a cheerleading letter of intent for the
2007-2008 school year.

Brittany
is joined by her mother Shelley Van Sant for her letter of intent
signing.
Van Sant has served as
captain of the Doherty cheer squad and received recognition as a
NCA All-American Cheerleader under the directed of Doherty cheer
coach Lianne Thiessen.
Brittany has been on the
Doherty High Honor Roll, was listed in the Who's Who Among High
School Students, and received a McPherson College Presidential Scholarship.
“I am very pleased to have
Brittany joining our team next year,” said McPherson College cheer/dance
coach, Tia Leach. “ Brittany is an epitome of a cheerleader, out-going,
bright personality, and a good role model and leader.”
“Brittany will really help
our team when it comes to leading and entertaining the crowd because
her personality shines through her cheers.”
“Brittany is not only an
outstanding athlete with natural talent in both cheer and dance,
but an outstanding student as shown by her being a recipient of
the McPherson College Presidential Scholarship.”
“I am looking forward to
working with her next fall.”
Brittany is the daughter
of Shelley Van Sant of Colorado Springs, Colo. Brittany plans to
double major in chemistry and philosophy & religion.

Ayres
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Roxane Ayres of Culver, Kan., and Tescott
High School to a cheerleading letter of intent for the 2007-2008
school year.

Roxane Ayres
is joined for her letter of intent signing by (front, right) her
mother Janella Ayres along with (back, left) her brother Caleb Ayres,
McPherson College cheer coach Tia Leach, father Richard Ayres, and
Tescott HS cheer coach Teena Church.
Ayres was participated
in volleyball, where she earned honorable mention all-league honors,
basketball, and track as well as cheerleading at Tescott High School.
Roxane was student council
president and selected to the National Honors Society. She participated
in forensics and advanced to the state tournament in prose and IDA.
She named to the Salina All-Star Cheer Stars.
“Roxie will be a great addition
to the McPherson College cheerleading program,” said McPherson College
cheer/dance coach, Tia Leach. “She comes to us from Tescott High
School, where she cheered four years. She has an outgoing personality
and is an outstanding student. Not only is she a Presidential scholar,
she also has amazing athletic talent and potential to learn new
collegiate level material in several aspects of cheerleading, qualities
I am looking for in our student-athletes.”
“I am happy to have her as
part of the team, and I look forward to working with her next year.”

Skelton
signs to cheer for McPherson
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Bethany Skelton of Larned, Kan., to cheerleading
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Bethany Skelton is joined for her letter of intent signing by her mother Michelle Skelton and McPherson College cheer coach Tia Leach.
Skelton was participated
in cheerleading and cross country at Larned High School.
She was twice a UCA (Universal
Cheerleaders Association) All-Star selection. Bethany also represented
Larned High as a delegate to Girls' State.
Bethany recently placed 1st
in her individual competition at the Sunflower Classic in Concordia,
Kan.
“Bethany will be a great
fit for McPherson College,” said McPherson College cheer/dance coach,
Tia Leach. “Her experience as well as her positive attitude will
help our team continue to move in the direction we want to go.”
“We are building a program
of dedicated athletes, and Bethany has the strong work ethic that
will compliment our growing team.”
“Bethany is not only a talented
cheerleader, but also a great student. I am looking forward to working
with her, and excited to have her as part of our campus community.”
Bethany is the daughter of
Michele Skelton of Larned, Kan. Bethany plans to major in elementary
education at McPherson College.
