Signings
The following is a list of signings for the 08-09 school year starting with the most recent signing.
Herron
signs withMcPherson College
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Emily Herron of Enid, Okla., to cheerleading
and soccer letters of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.
The 5'0” Herron received
all-conference, all-district, and all-state recognition in soccer
this past year.
“Emily's tumbling background
will have a great impact on the (cheer) squad for next year,” said
McPherson cheer coach Anita Parks. “I am excited to have her join
our squad.”
“Emily seemed to immediately
fit in with the team when she first visited campus,” added soccer
coach Robert Talley.
“She is very quick, and technical,
with the ball as an outside midfielder. She has a throw-in that
will be very helpful in our attacking third.”
Emily is the daughter of
Leonard and Jackie Herron of Enid, Okla. Emily plans to major in
elementary education.

Spangler
commits to McPherson College
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Courtney Spangler of Valley Center, Kan.,
to cheerleading letter of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.
The 5'2” Spangler lettered
two years in cheerleading and three years in tennis at Valley Center
High School .
“I am very excited to have
Courtney on the squad next year,” said McPherson cheer coach Anita
Parks. “She has a great personality and will be a great asset to
the squad!”
The recipient of a McPherson
College Presidential Scholarship, Courtney is the daughter of Kerri
and Russel Trower, and Gary Spangler. She plans to major in biochemistry/pre-med.

Doffing
signs to cheer and for softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Katherine “Katie” Doffing of Conway Springs,
Kan., to cheerleading and softball letters of intent for the 2008-2009
school year.
“I am very excited that Katie
is joining our squad,” said Anita Parks, McPherson College cheer/dance
coach. “I believe she will be a great addition to the squad.”

The 5'5” Doffing was the
2006 state power lifting champion in the squat, then won four power
lifting titles in 2007, sweeping the squat, bench, total, and overall
titles.
Katie placed fourth in Class
3A tennis doubles as a senior, and has participated in track &
field for Conway Springs HS throughout high school.
“Katie will come in a battle
from playing time as a catcher and outfielder ,” said McPherson
head coach Mike McCormick. “ She is very talented, with good skills
after playing for a strong summer program under coaches Keith Leddy
and Jim Chitwood.”
“We are very happy to have
Katie as a member of the Bulldog nation and as a student here at
McPherson College.”
Katie is the daughter of
Melissa and John Doffing of Conway Springs, Kan. She plans to major
in education or graphic design.
