McPherson College and York College swapped one-run decisions in soccer action Saturday night at McPherson Stadium.
The Mac men continued on their recent roll with a 2-1 victory. The Bulldogs, after a 1-9 start, have climbed to 6-10 heading into a crucial game here Tuesday against Tabor.
The Bulldogs led 1-0 at the half on an unassisted goal by John White. York tied the game early in the second half before White scored his second goal and the game-winner off a pass from Jon Rothrock.
The score was about as even as the stats. Both teams had 10 shots on goal and both goalies, Mac's Ryan Souter and York's Travis Sides, had 5 saves apiece.
The Mac women, trying for their third win in a row, tied the game late on a Laura Engquist goal, assisted by Tawni Camarillo, but wound up losing 2-1 in overtime when Casey Boucher scored for York off a pass from April Springer.
York had more chances with a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal, but Mac's Sarah Story came up with 5 saves. Mac hosts Tabor at 6 p.m. Tuesday
