KCAC Honors

With an entirely new squad, new coaching staff, but also, a new artificial turf playing surface in McPherson Stadium, there was a period of adjustment for the Bulldogs. After opening with season with a pair of road losses, the Dogs came home to McPherson Stadium and turned back cross-town rival Central Christian College 1-0 for their first win of the season.
The Bulldogs would then endure a seven-game losing streak before some position changes as well as changes in strategy produced five wins in a six game stretch and raised the Bulldogs’ record to 6-10 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Knowing they needed at least one win in their final regular season matches to qualify for the KCAC post-season tournament, the Bulldogs dropped a disappointing 3-1 match to Tabor, then saw their season end with a loss at Friends. The Dogs’ final record of 6-12 overall, 3-6 in the KCAC, left McPherson in a tie for 7th in the final conference standings.
Austin Bray and John White both were named KCAC “Player of the Week”, and Ryan Souter was named KCAC “Goalkeeper of the Week”, after being moved into that position after a season ending injury to regular goalie, Kevin Lamm.
Bray was named the KCAC “Newcomer of the Year” as well as to the All-KCAC first team. John White and Brett Liviadauis received second team All-KCAC recognition while Danny Carman was named to the honorable mention squad.
Bray was the Bulldogs’ leading scorer with eight goals and six assists. John White added seven goals and three assists.
