The following is a list of all signings for the 2004 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Townsend signs with Bulldogs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of D.J. Townsend of Oklahoma
City , Okla. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.

The 6'1”, 175-pound Townsend
anchored the defensive back line for Northern Oklahoma College at
Tonkawa the past two seasons.
After completing his prep
career and graduating from Putnam City High School in 2002, Townsend
spent the last two years at Northern Oklahoma which were district
and two-time region champions. In 2003, the Mavericks advanced to
the NJCAA Final Four.
“I believe our men's program
took a huge step forward with the signing of D.J.,” said McPherson
College head coach Doug Quint. “We need to sign another impact junior
college player and D.J. gives us that.”
“D.J. knows what it takes
to win and to be part of a national championship team. Northern
Oklahoma College is one of the premier junior college soccer programs
in the country, and D.J. was part of their 2003 Final Four team.”
“I look for D.J. to step
in to a major leadership role right away, and anchor our back line.
He is a very solid defender who organizes things well at the back.
He is a winner on and off the field, and I'm really pleased he is
going to be a Bulldog.”
D.J. is the son of Don and
Terri Townsend of Oklahoma City . He plans to major in education
or biology/pre-forestry.

Davis, Oklahoma goalie,
signs with Bulldogs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Michael Davis of Bethany
, Okla. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.
The
5'11”, 175-pound Davis played in goal and forward for Putnam City
West High School where he won All-State, All-Conference, and All-District
honors, and was named team captain as a senior. Following his junior
and senior seasons, he was named to the All-Tribune team.
As a senior, Davis scored
two goals and had five assists as a forward while making 143 saves
in goal. Following his junior season when he was named to All-Conference
and All-District teams, Davis was credited with 126 goals and one
assist. He received the first of what would be three straight All-Conference
awards as a sophomore when he had 96 saves. As a freshman, Michael
had the first 46 of what would be 411 career stops.
“We are very pleased that
everything worked out for Michael to attend McPherson College ,”
said Bulldog head coach Doug Quint. “He brings with him a lot talent
and increases our depth at the goal keeping position, which was
a priority in our recruitment for this fall.”
“Michael has what it takes
to be a very good college keeper, and I'm looking forward to working
with him over the next four years.”
Davis is following is following
his sister and brother is competing at the collegiate level. His
sister, Jessica, was a fast-pitch softball pitcher at Southwest
Missouri State in Springfield while brother, Cory, played soccer
at Southwestern University at Weatherford , Okla.
Michael is the son of Matt
and Pam Davis of Bethany , Okla. He will major in Automotive Restoration
at McPherson College .

Tripp signs with Bulldog

McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Talon Tripp of Denver , Colo.
, to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic year.
The 5'10”, 165-pound Tripp
played interscholastically for Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver
. Tripp was selected team captain of the Jefferson High team his
senior season when he was the team's leader in scoring and assists.
Tripp was a first team All-City
selection after his sophomore season.
“Talon is a great addition
to the McPherson College soccer family,” said McPherson College
coach Doug Quint. “He is a solid player that possesses the ability
to play multiple positions.”
“We signed Talon to play
up top for us next fall, but he would also make a very dangerous
outside back with the offensive abilities he brings. Pre-season
workouts will tell us where he will help the team the most. ”
“I was impressed with Talon
right away, and I am looking forward to his contributions over the
next four years.”
Talon is the son of Jean
Tripp of Denver , Colo.

McAleer joins Bulldog

McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ryan McAleer of Broomfield
, Colo. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.
The
6'4”, 190-pound McAleer was an all-conference performer for Legacy
High School in Broomfield , Colo. , his final prep season.
A four-year varsity letter
winner, McAleer also received Legancy High's “Most Valuable Bolt”
Award.
“I am very excited to have
Ryan as a Bulldog,” said McPherson College coach Doug Quint. “He
brings everything you want in a center back. He has great size,
possesses good speed, tackles well, and is strong technically.”
“Ryan sees the field really
well and is good at starting an attack from his center back position.”
“We had to strengthen our
‘aerial warfare', and I really feel Ryan makes it an advantage for
us now. His is quite a presence on the field and I'm just thankful
he is on our side.”
The son of Jim and Andrea
McAleer of Broomfield , Colo. , Ryan plans to major in secondary
education at McPherson College .

Myers signs with Bulldog

McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Alex Myers of Garland ,
Tex. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic year.

The 5'6”, 135-pound Myers
was a member of the 85 ODP (Olympic Development Program) State team
for two years in addition to being a letter winner a Naaman Forest
High School in Garland .
“I am very pleased Alex had
decided to come to McPherson College ,” said McPherson College coach
Doug Quint. “He is a very talented young man, who has the potential
to become a prolific goal scorer for us.”
“Alex is extremely quick
and very strong technically. He is the type of striker defenses
don't want to see running at them with the ball.”
“I see Alex helping us out
immediately up top next season.”
Myers received numerous awards
during his prep career including the “Players Choice Award” and
the “Hollander Distinguished Service Award” from the Dallas Inter
Soccer Club, and the “Loyal Service Award” from the Longhorn Soccer
Club. He also captained Forest HS' cross country team.
Alex comes from a solid athletic
background as his father played rugby for the Air Force Academy
in the 1980's while his uncle played football for the University
of Tennessee-Martin .
The son of Dr. Chris and
Sherri Myers of Garland , Tex. , Alex plans to major in biology/sports
medicine with a career goal in the area of physical therapy.

Dorrell inks with Bulldog

McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of James Dorrell II of Broken
Arrow , Okla. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.
The
5'11”, 214-pound Donnell allowed only six goals in 28 varsity games
for Broken Arrow High School where he was a three-year letter winner.
Dorrell played for the Oklahoma
state champions Nationals 86 soccer club his junior year, and the
Tulsa Soccer Club 86 team as a senior.
“I am pleased things have
worked out for Jamie to be part of our Bulldog soccer program this
fall,” said McPherson College head soccer coach Doug Quint. “He
is a big, strong keeper who is very aggressive and commanding of
his box.”
“Jamie will bring us much
needed depth to what many believe is the most important position
on the field. It was important for us to another keeper so we didn't
get caught in the same scenario we did last year when we had an
injury.”
“I am looking forward to
having him protect our net over the next four years.”
James is the son of Fred
and Maggie Dorrell of Broken Arrow , Okla. He plans to major in
business at McPherson College .

Hutchins inks with
Bulldog kickers
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Trey Hutchins of Colleyville
, Tex. , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.
The 5'7”, 130-pound Hutchins
received first team All-District honors as a senior at Colleyville
Heritage High School after being named to the second team All-District
squad as a junior.
A four-year veteran of the
Coca-Cola Classic League, Hutchins played club soccer with Fort
Worth United Futbol Club.
“ Trey is a technically gifted,
and very quick, soccer player ,” said McPherson College coach Doug
Quint. “He has the ability to break defenses down with his one-on-one
creativity, and to get by opponents with quickness.”
“Trey has the two biggest
attributes that I look for in players, and he's going to help us
out immediately in a lot of ways next year. He has the ability to
play multiple positions on the field and contribute from the moment
he steps on the pitch. I see Trey either playing up top for us or
in the mid=field.”
“I'm really pleased to have
him joining us at McPherson College .”
The son of Brian and Vicki
Hutchins of Colleyville , Tex. , Trey plans to major in business
management at McPherson College .

Narbaez joins Bulldog
kickers
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Paul Narbaez of Euless ,
Texas , to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic
year.
The 6'0”, 180-pound Narbaez
played interscholastically for Trinity High School in Euless and
club ball for the Dallas Texans.

During his campus visit this
spring, Narbaez participated in the six-on-six tournament hosted
by McPherson College along with Bulldog returnees and other recruits,
and helped take his team to the championship game.
“Paul is a tough, tenacious
defender who tackles the ball well and rarely is beaten one-on-one,”
said McPherson College coach Doug Quint. “He brings a sense of toughness
to the backline.”
“When Paul wins the ball,
he sees the field very well and is comfortable under pressure.”
“Paul has been trained well
as a youngster and comes to us from a very well respected club in
Texas . I look forward to his immediate contribution to our defense.”
“It has been important for
us to sign another quality defensive player, and we were impressed
with Paul immediately.”
Paul is the son of John
and Terrie Narbaez of Euless , Texas .

Bell signs with Bulldog kickers
McPherson College has announced the recent signing of Trenton Bell of Oklahoma City, Okla., to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic year.

The 6’1”, 165-pound Bell earned All-State honors following his senior season at Westmoore High School in Oklahoma City. A four-year letter winner, he was named Westmoore’s “Freshman of the Year” as Westmoore was the Oklahoma state runner-up.
“I am very pleased to have Trenton as a part of our incoming class for next year,” said McPherson College coach Doug Quint. “Deno is a great young man and will really excel on and off the field at McPherson College.”
“He is a top quality individual as well as a great player. He has good size, speed, and technical ability. We expect him to make an immediate contribution to our mid-field next fall. He works very hard and is a very disciplined player.”
Trenton is the son of Morris and Linda Bell of Oklahoma City, Okla. Trenton plans to major in computer science at McPherson College.

Magana-Garcia inks with Bulldog kickers
McPherson College has announced the recent signing of Robert Magana-Garcia of Hutchinson, Kan., to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic year.

A four-year letter winner at Buhler High School, Garcia played one season at Northern Oklahoma College before transferring to Cloud County Community College, where he played this past season.
Projected as a center-midfielder for the Bulldogs, Robert was a first team All-Jayhawk Conference and second team All-Region 6 NJCAA selection following his sophomore season at Cloud County, who lost in the Region 6 championship game.
At Buhler High, Garcia was a two-time, first team All-Chisholm Trail League honoree and earned first team All-State honors as a senior after being named second team All-State as a junior. In addition, he was an honorable mention All-Chisholm Trail football selection as a kicker his senior year. During his four prep season, Robert scored 33 goals and dished out 39 assists, topped by his 15 goals as a senior.
“I really like the coaching staff here. This is a program where I know I am wanted and where I can make a real contribution. This is definitely the best fit for me,” said Garcia, who was also being recruited by Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina and Sacramento State in California.
“I had an opportunity to play on the (McPherson Stadium) turf earlier (with a 6-on-6 team from Cloud County CC). It’s really great.”
“We just signed the field general our program has been missing,” said McPherson College coach Doug Quint. “Robert is a true leader and his experience will be vital for our young team’s success next year. He is the coach-on-the-field that our young team didn’t have last year.
“Robert has been part of two national junior college powerhouse programs, and really knows what it takes to win.
“One of our goals this recruiting period was to sign a couple of transfers who would make an immediate impact for us. Robert has been a major signing priority for us. We knew that he could be the difference in moving us to the level to compete for a conference championship.
“Robert and I have a long history. His dad was very instrumental in the formation and growth of Club Azzurri soccer in Hutchinson. I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow up, but never was lucky enough to coach him. His uncle (McPherson assistant Alberto Magana) and I are ecstatic about him committing to McPherson College. It’s about time we are on the same side!”
The son of Diana Dauber of Hutchinson, Kan., and Jorge Magana of Sacramento, Calif., Robert plans to major in business administration.
