After opening the season with eight wins in their first nine matches, including a school record seven straight victories, the Bulldogs suffered through a 1-3 stretch before ending the regular season with a pair of double-overtime ties and finished the regular season 10-4-2 overall and in fifth place in the KCAC with a 4-3-2 record.

The Bulldogs took some of the sting out of their late season slump by defeating top-seeded Kansas Wesleyan in the semifinals of the KCAC post-season tournament to advance to the finals where they fell in overtime.

The Bulldogs’ tough early season, non-conference schedule played a major role in the Bulldogs winning a spot in the Region IV play-offs for the third straight season,.  There the Bulldogs would meet KCAC regular season champion Kansas Wesleyan for a third time.  After splitting their previous two matches, the Bulldogs saw their 11-6-3 season ended with a 3-1 loss to the Coyotes.

The Bulldogs’ 11 overall wins tied the school record for wins in s season, a record originally set last year.  The Bulldogs’ seven-match winning streak also set a new school record for consecutive wins.

While a pulled muscle sidelined sophomore Armando Rodriguez, the Bulldogs’ leading scorer and honorable mention All-America in 2006, for the entire post-season, it was not before he scored 16 goals and 37 points to extend his school, career record in both categories.  Following his breaking of the school, career scoring record in the Bulldogs’ win over Bethany, Rodriguez was named the NAIA’s “National Player of Week”.

Armando was named to the All-KCAC first team and recognized as the KCAC’s “Offensive Player of the Year”.  Joining him on the All-KCAC first team were seniors Paul Burke and Trenton “Deno” Bell.  Senior Mike Davis received second team all-conference recognition.

Bulldogs receiving conference, region, and/or national weekly honors were:

Armando Rodriguez – NAIA National Player of the Week; NAIA Region IV Player of the Week (twice); KCAC Player of the Week (twice)

Michael Davis – KCAC Defensive Player of the Week
