Harvey named to All-KCAC picks
 McPherson College freshman Mandy Harvey was named to the 2003 All-KCAC second team following the conclusion of the just ended regular season. She was the lone Lady Bulldog to receive post-season honors as they finished the season in eighth place with a 2-7 in conference play and an overall record of 2-15.
“The honors received by our individual players were all very deserving,” said Doug Quint, McPherson College head soccer coach, “even though I felt we could have easily had a couple more recognized.”
Mandy Harvey, a 2003 graduate of Leander High School, scored three goals to tie for the Lady Bulldogs’ scoring lead. Mandy is the daughter of James and Debbie Harvey of Leander. She is majoring in pre-physical therapy.
“I was happy to see Mandy honored for her accomplishments. Technically, she is very skilled with the ball. Mandy has so many one-on-one moves with the ball that I encouraged her to play within her personality. I encouraged her to dribble the ball and take on players each time she got it.”
“Mandy was very open to the challenge, and has matured into one of the finer players in the conference as a freshman. With an off-season of hard work, I see her as the cornerstone of our program’s future.
The surprise of the KCAC, the first-year Lady Bulldogs won two conference matches and finished the season 2-7 and in eighth place in the conference race, and 2-15 overall.
Four Bulldog men received All-KCAC honors. Austin Bray was named to the first team and also "Newcomer of the Year", while John White and Brian Livaudais were named to the second team and Danny Carman was named honorable mention.
Starting from square one as part of the resurrected Bulldog soccer program, the McPherson men finished their season with a 6-12 overall record and in seventh place in the KCAC with 3-6 mark, missing a qualifying spot in the conference post-season tournament by one point.
