“I enjoyed playing soccer again (at Southwestern), but I couldn’t get what I wanted academically. My dad suggested I look at the schools around Salina and McPherson fit my needs.”
“I really like the people here, and academically, I can pursue both of my areas of interest, Spanish and environmental stewardship.”

Hand joins Lady Bulldog kickers
McPherson College has announced the recent signing of Jamee Hand of Leander, Texas, to a soccer letter of intent for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Jamee Hand, joined by McPherson College head coach Doug Quint, signs her Bulldog letter of intent.
A 2003 graduate of Leander High School, Hand was a high school teammate of current Lady Bulldog Mandy Harvey. The 5’4” Hand suffered a devastating knee injury on in January of 2003 and underwent complete knee reconstruction last March.
Hand, who had attended Austin Community College during the fall semester, visited with Harvey, a couple of other Bulldog players and the McPherson coaches when they traveled to the Dallas area to scout high school and club players at a showcase tournament.
“Mandy and the other spoke very highly of McPherson, and I really liked the coaches when I visited with them,” said Hand. Hand visited the campus in early December with her father, and before they left campus, they decided McPherson College was the place for her, applied, was accepted, and had a financial aid package prepared.
Jamee is currently on campus attending an interterm class. She has begun work with the Bulldog athletic training staff on the rehabilitation of her knee, and will be attending second semester classes.
“With Jamee’s high school and club background, she had the opportunity to play collegiate before her injury,” said McPherson College coach Doug Quint. “But, like a lot of injury situations, other coaches lost interest when the magnitude became evident.”
“How much Jamee will be able to help us will depend on her willingness to first, very hard on the rehabilitation of the knee. If she can get back to where she was (before the injury), she could play a major role in the growth of our program.”
The daughter of Scott and Tammy Hand of Leander, Texas, Jamee is undecided at this time on her major area of study.
