The women’s soccer program finished second in the KCAC regular season with a 7-2 conference record while setting a school record with 11 regular season wins including nine shut-outs.

The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the championship game of the KCAC post-season tournament where they fell in a shoot-out to regular season conference champion Kansas Wesleyan after a 1-1 double-overtime tie.

In NAIA regional post-season play, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the College of Saint Mary to advance to Region IV semifinals.  Meeting KWU for the third time the season, the Bulldogs fell 1-0, ending their season with an overall record of 13-6-1.

Individually, freshman Haley Cook set new school, single season scoring records with 20 goals and 43 points.  Freshman goalie Andrea Swanson set school records for most wins by a keeper and most shut-outs in a season.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs set school records for most wins, most goals scored, fewest goals allowed, most consecutive wins, and most shut-outs in a season.

Post-season honors were led by freshman Andrea Swanson, who was named the KCAC Goalkeeper and Co-Defensive Player of the Year.  Joining Swanson on the All-KCAC first team were senior Victoria Salas, sophomore Whitney Williams, and Haley Cook.  Sophomore Nicolette Rodriguez was named to the All-KCAC second team and freshman Ana Calderon received honorable mention recognition. Williams, Salas, and Swanson also received NAIA Region IV first team honors while Cook was named to the Region IV second team.

Andrea Swanson was named the NAIA Region IV Defensive Player of the Week and KCAC Defensive Player of the Week following three straight shut-out wins over Manhattan Christian, Tabor, and Ottawa.

With only one senior, Salas, on the squad, the future of Lady Bulldog soccer is bright indeed.
