Signings
The following is a list of signings for the 07-08 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Gray
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kelsey Gray of Golden, Colo., to a softball
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Joining
Kelsey Gray for her letter of intent signing were her parents (front)
Corinne and Gene Gray and (back) McPherson College head coach Mike
McCormick.
The 5'2” Gray was a letter
winner for the Arvada West High School squad that advanced to the
Colorado 5A state quarterfinals.
Named West's “Best Defensive
Player” as a freshman, Gray compiled a .471 batting average and
.966 field average this past season.
“Kelsey is a hard hitting,
left-handed catcher,” said McPherson College head softball coach,
Mike McCormick, “that come to us from one of the best teams in Colorado.”
“She is very committed to
softball as well as her performance in the classroom. She is hard
working and a very good student.”
“Kelsey is a good fit for
us as she will be our first true, left-handed batter here.”
“I am very excited to have
her coming to McPherson College as a student and a player.”
Kelsey was also active in
choir at Arvada West.
Kelsey is the daughter of
Gene and Corinne Gray of Golden, Colo. She plans to major in history/secondary
education.

Luthye
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ashley Luthye of Northglenn, Colo., to a softball
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

The 5'5” Luthye was a three-year
softball letter winner at Northglenn High School where she was named
Most Valuable Player and team captain for coach Stacy Stern.
Ashley posted a .420 batting
average, drove in 40 runs, and had a .995 field average as a third
baseman/pitcher for Northglenn HS.
Ashley also played club ball
for the Colorado American All-Star team at the gold and white levels,
and for All-Star Team AZ.
“Ashley will be coming to
McPherson College to pitch and play third base,” said McPherson
College head softball coach, Mike McCormick. “She has a good work
ethic. She is a good student as shown by the fact she was recently
on campus to compete for the Presidential Scholarship.”
“Ashley has a good bat and
knows how to play the game. She will add depth to our pitching and
left side of the infield.”
“I am very excited about
having her join our program next year.”
In addition to softball,
Ashley lettered twice in swimming and once in power lifting.
Ashley is the daughter of
Jerry and Krystal Luthye of Northglenn, Colo. Ashley plans to major
in biology.

Arpin
signs with McPherson softball & volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Jessica Arpin of Salina, Kan., to volleyball
and softball letters of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

Joining
Jessica Arpin for her letter of signing with McPherson College were
her parents (front) Ken and Judy Arpin along with (back) Mike McCormick,
McPherson College head softball coach, and Nathalea Stephenson,
McPherson College head volleyball coach.
Arpin is currently penciled
in as a pitcher/first baseman for the Lady Bulldog softball program.
“Jess will come to McPherson
College as Presidential Scholar,” said McPherson College head softball
coach, Mike McCormick. “She will be a candidate for a spot in our
pitching rotation. She has good skills and will be an asset to our
program.”
“Jess also plays first base
and has a good bat. We are looking forward to having her as a Lady
Bulldog the next four years.”
The 5'11” Arpin was named
to the All-Saline County honorable mention volleyball squad following
her senior season at Salina Central High School by the Salina Journal.
Arpin finished the 2006
season with 83 kills and a team high 67 stuff blocks.
“We
are very excited to have Jessica playing for us this next year,”
offered Nathalea Stephenson, McPherson College volleyball coach.
“She brings aggressiveness and court
awareness to our team in the middle position. Watching Jessica play
throughout her high school career, she continues to develop as a
player and I know that she will continue to do so.”
“Jessica has a very strong
work ethic and a determination to improve each time she steps on
the court. She is one of those players that a coach is glad to have
on their team. She hits the ball hard and is a smart player when
it comes to placing the ball. It is also nice to have a player that
is close to McPherson so that her family will be able to come and
watch her play.”
Jessica is the daughter of
Ken and Judy Arpin of Salina, Kan. Jessica plans to major in elementary
education at McPherson College.

Toepfer
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ashley Toepfer of Crescent, Okla., to a softball
letter of intent for the 2007-2008 school year.

The 5'4” Toepfer was an
all-conference selection as a sophomore for coach Teffany Brandon
at Crescent High School.
In addition to lettering
four years in softball, Ashley lettered one year in track for the
Tigers.
“Ashley will come to McPherson
College with a solid academic background and as a good athlete,”
said McPherson College head softball coach, Mike McCormick. “She
has good work habits in the classroom and on the field."
“Ashley is a left-handed
player who plays shortstop and catches. She will bring a good bat
and speed to our team.”
“I am looking forward to
having her as a Lady Bulldog the next four years.”
Ashley is the daughter of
Wade and Lisa Toepfer of Crescent, Okla. Ashley plans to major in
art with an emphasis in photography.
