Viehman
named KCAC “Co-Player of the Week”
McPherson College 's Erikka
Viehman was named the KCAC softball “Co-Player of the Week” for
her performances during the week of April 6-12.
Viehman
hit for an average of .600 and a 1.600 slugging percentage with
three home runs and a double, six runs batted in, and six runs scored
on six hits in 10 official at bats as McPherson went 2-2 for the
week.
In the Lady Bulldogs' opening
KCAC doubleheader of the week, Viehman blasted a two-run, walk-off
home run in the bottom of seventh inning to cap a three-for-four
performance as McPherson turned back Southwestern, 5-3. She then
followed with a home run in her first at bat of the nightcap in
leading the Bulldogs to their 11-7 win to sweep the Moundbuilders.
On Friday, against two-time
defending KCAC champion Friends University, Viehman closed out her
week by going two for three with a home run, one run batted in,
and two walks in the second game as the Bulldogs' dropped both ends
of the doubleheader in Wichita.
A 2005 graduate of Gunnison,
Colo., High School, Viehman was an All-KCAC first team selection
following the 2006 and 2007 seasons. A senior biology major, Erikka
is the daughter of Richard Viehman and Cindy Carr-Viehman.
