Signings
The following is a list of signings for the 09-10 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Larkin
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kayla Larkin of Medicine Lodge, Kan., to a
softball letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school year.
“Kayla plays many positions;
she pitches, plays third base, and the outfield,” said Mike McCormick,
McPherson College head coach. “We plan on her in playing third base,
but that will not rule out time at the other positions.”
“At the plate, she has good
power from the right side.”
“We are looking forward to
having Kayla here next year as a member of the Lady Bulldogs.”
A 5'7” right-hander, Larkin
has played four seasons for Cheri Dohrmann at Medicine Lodge High
School. Larkin has twice been named to the honorable mention All-Central
Plains League squad after helping lead the Lady Indians to a regional
runner-up finish in 2008.
Larkin hit for an average
of .380 as a junior, with a .500 on-base percentage, .490 slugging
percentage and 12 runs batted in. On the mound, she struck out 53
in 55 innings pitched with an ERA of 2.29.
Outside of the interscholastic
season, Larkin played third base with the Dodge City Magic 18U team
which won the Kansas AFA C state title under coach Heather Steiner.
Kayla is the daughter of
Dennis and Debra Larkin of Medicine Lodge, Kan. She plans to major
in elementary education.

Hahn
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Tiffani Hahn of Lyndon, Kan., and to a softball
letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school year.
“Tiffani Hahn is an outfielder
that has good speed and can run the bases,” said Mike McCormick,
McPherson College head coach. “She is very quick and will be challenging
for an outfield spot next season.”
“We are looking forward to
having her here next season as a member of the Lady Bulldogs.”
A 5'3” right-hander has been
a two-year letter winner in softball for Lyndon High under coach
Jennifer Hamlet. Hahn has previously lettered in volleyball, basketball,
and track & field.
Tiffani is the daughter of
Bernard and Gwen Hahn of Lyndon, Kan. She plans to major in graphic
design.
Tiffani's sister Hilary was
a two-time All-KCAC second team performer and softball team captain
for Friends University.

McNorton
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ashley McNorton of Topeka, Kan., and Seaman
High School to a softball letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school
year.

Ashley
McNorton was joined for her letter of intent signing by McPherson
College head coach Mike McCormick.
“Ashley will help
us in the infield at, primarily at shortstop,” said Mike McCormick,
McPherson College head coach. “ She was heavily recruited by the
big junior colleges in the state and chose McPherson College. She
has good range and right-to-left movement. She will be my
(team) rep in auto retoration.”
“I am really excited about
having Ashley here next year as a member of the Lady Bulldogs.”
A 5'5” right-hander, McNorton
has played just one season of prep softball for Seaman High School.
She comes from a rich athletic
background, with her uncle Kyle McNorton having played football
for the University of Kansas and Kansas City Chiefs, and uncle Rich
DeHart having played professional baseball for the Kansas City Royals
and Montreal Expos.
Ashley is the daughter of
Marie McNorton of Topeka , Kan. She plans to major in auto restoration.

Dutton
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kelsey Dutton of Limon, Colo., High School
to a softball letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school year.
The 5'8” Dutton is a four-year
letter winner in softball, three years in track, and one in basketball.
Kelsey received All-State
and All-Conference honors all four of her prep softball seasons,
and was named All-Colorado as a junior for coach Rocky Rockwell.
She received Limon High's Badger softball MVP in 2006 and 2007.

Dutton was 56-10 in 67 games
pitched her final three prep seasons. She gave up only 63 earned
runs on 246 hits and 131 total runs while striking out 722 and walking
88 in 441 innings pitched.
She helped her own cause
with 88 hits, 85 runs scored, 42 runs batted in with 13 doubles,
six triples, and five home runs. She walked 22 times and laid down
31 sacrifice bunts.
Dutton also received All-State
recognition in track & field as a freshman and sophomore.
Kelsey was part of Limon
High School's 2006 Colorado Class 2A state championship basketball
team, 2006 and 2007 state championship track & field teams,
and 2006 and 2008 state champion dance teams.
“Kelsey is one of the best
pitchers in the state of Colorado ,” said Mike McCormick, McPherson
College head coach. “She has good skill with all of her pitches,
and moves the ball around.”
“As a switch hitter, she
will be a force at the plate, with good speed from the left side.”
“Kelsey is also a good student.
She has many awards for academics as well as softball. She will
be a great addition to our school in addition to being an impact
player for our softball team.
Kelsey is the daughter of
Brenda and Michael Dutton of Limon, Colo. Her mother played basketball
at Kansas State University in the late ‘70's. Kelsey's sister Jennifer
played basketball at Western State College of Colorado and sister
Sara was on the rowing team at Kansas State University.

Gunther
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Janie Gunther of Scott City, Kan., and Scott
Community High School to a softball letter of intent for the 2009-2010
school year.

Joining

“Janie is an outstanding
catcher from Scott Community High School,” said Mike McCormick,
McPherson College head coach. “She has a good arm and blocks the
plate well. She can play outfield as well.”
“Janie also brings a good
academic background to McPherson College as well as being a good
athlete."
“We are very pleased to have
Janie's commitment to be part of our softball program next fall.”
A 5'2” right-hander, Gunther
received Mid-State League and All-Area honors following her sophomore
and junior seasons for Scott Community Hign under coach Reane Baker.
Gunther hit for an average
of 0.369 her junior season, with 17 runs scored, 19 runs batted
in, five doubles, and two triples. Her on-base percentage was 0.507
in 65 times at bat.
In addition to lettering
in softball each of her three high school seasons to date, Gunther
has lettered three years in tennis where she was “Rookie of the
Year” as a sophomore and SCCHS' “Most Valuable Player” as a junior.
As a sophomore, Janie competed
in the state power lifting championships, placing first in the squat,
second in clean & jerk, and third overall.
Janie is the daughter of
Bryan and Karen Gunther of Scott City, Kan. She plans to major in
psychology.

Dalrymple
signs with McPherson softball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Melissa Dalrymple of Keenesburg, Colo., and
Weld Central High School to a softball letter of intent for the
2009-2010 school year.

Melissa
is joined for her parents Loretta Novak and Michael Dalrymple.
“Melissa is a pitcher that
has good movement on the ball and can hit her spots well,” said
Mike McCormick, McPherson College head coach. “She is a good infielder
and outfielder as well. She will be competing for starting jobs
at all three positions.”
“Melissa is a good student
in the class room. We are very glad to have Melissa coming to McPherson
College as student and player next year.”
The 5'4” Dalrymple will graduate
in May 2009 from Weld Central High School where she has been a three-year
letter winner.
Following her junior season
when she hit for a 0.347 average, Melissa received honorable mention
all-conference recognition and was an all-academic selection.
Outside the interscholastic
season, Melissa has played for two Triple Crown all-star teams.
Melissa is the daughter of
Loretta Novak and Michael Dalrymple.
