Tennis battles through "inaugural" season

McPherson College put men’s and women’s tennis teams on the competitive courts for the first time since 2001 this spring. The Lady Bulldogs came away with the only win of the season for either squad as they defeated Kansas Wesleyan in KCAC play.

In an important first step, McPherson was able to field a full squad in both divisions, and with only one graduating senior, Callie Crist, on the combined squads and with a full recruiting season, the Bulldogs should be a stronger, deeper, more mature squad next season.

The Bulldog netters will be under the direction of a new coach during the 2007-2008 season. With the resignation of J.D. Gravina, who has accepted the head women’s basketball position at Quincy University in Illinois, the search is underway for his replacement.
