Honors
Nine
individuals, three relays earn All-KCAC honors
Nine members of the McPherson
College track and field team received 2004 All-KCAC first team honors
for their individual or as part of relay teams placing among the
top three finishers of the KCAC track and field championships held
May 6 th and 7 th at Tabor College in Hillsboro .
Leading the way for the Bulldogs
were second place finishers Tim Cox (JR, Lyndon , Kan. ) and Dan
Hudachek (SO, Stillwater , MN ) in the 800 meters and discus throw,
respectively. Freshmen Brooks Reale (FR, Arvada , Colo. ) and Chris
Benisch (FR, Inman , Kan. ) placed third in the 100 meters and long
jump, and then combined with Geoff Davis (FR, Omaha , Nebr. ) and
Preston Taylor (SO, Gatesville, Tex.) to make up the third place
4x100 meters relay. Andrew Paull (FR, Kanopolis, Kan.), Zach Kimble
(FR, Mulvane, Kan.), and Chad Richert (FR, McPherson, Kan.) joined
Cox in forming the second place 4x800 meters relay.
Earning honorable mention
individual honors were Zane Walker (FR, Eckley, CO) and Cox in the
high jump, Preston Taylor in the triple jump, and Sheila Bevan (FR,
Macksville , Kan. ) in both the shot put and discus throw. The men's
4x400 meter relay of Richert, Kimble, Paull and Cox finished fifth
in the 4x400 meters relays.
