2007 Honors

17 individuals, 4 relays earn All-KCAC track & field honors

Three members of the McPherson College track and field team received 2007 All-KCAC first team honors for their individual placing among the top three finishers of the KCAC track and field championships held May 4 th and 5 th at Bethel College in North Newton.


Leading the way for the Bulldogs was double-second place finisher Israel Ortiz (JR, Limon, Colo.) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000 meters. Ortiz also earned honorable mention honors with his fifth place finish in the 1,500 meters.



Zane Walker
(JR, Eckley, Colo., Yuma HS) earned the Bulldog men's final All-KCAC first team honors as he tied for third place in the high jump.



Lacy Johnston
(SO, Arlington, Colo., Swink HS) was the only Lady Bulldog to bring home All-KCAC first team honors as she tied for second in the women's high jump. Johnston also earned honorable mention All-KCAC honors with her sixth place finishes in the triple jump.



Thirteen Bulldog men and four women combined to earn All-KCAC honorable mention recognition in twelve events.

Earning individual honorable mention All-KCAC honors for finishing fourth were freshman Shaun Griffin ((FR, Inman, Kan.) in steeplechase and 5,000 meters and Dan Hudachek (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) in the hammer throw.

Rounding out McPherson's individual honorable mention honorees by placing sixth were Brent Bailey (Simla, Colo., Limon HS) in the 800 meters, Jacob Merrick (JR, Clearwater, Kan.) in the 10,000 meters, and Chris Bode (FR, Flagler, Colo.) in the discus.

All three men's relays and one women's relay finished in the top six and earned honorable mention recognition.

The men's 4x800 meters relay team of Sean McCrae (SO, Marietta, Ga.), Tolan Lichty (SO, Gardner, Kan.), Israel Ortiz, and Brent Bailey finished fourth.

The men's 4x400 meters relay made up of Sean McCrae, Chase Ortiz (FR, Fort Worth, Tex., Mansfield Summit HS), Brent Bailey, and Andrew Paull (JR, Kanopolis, Kan.) earned honorable mention recognition with its fifth place finish.

The Bulldog men's 4x100 meters relay of Chase Ortiz, Sean McCrae, Brooks Reale (JR, Arvada, Colo., Ralston Valley HS), and Adam Suppes (SO, St. John, Kan.) was the men's final honorable mention honoree, placing sixth.

The Lady Bulldogs' 4x400 meters relay of Bryanna Daniels (FR, Longmont, Colo.), Megan Meyer (SO, Beloit, Kan.), Ashley Mitchell (SO, Great Bend, Kan.), and Lacy Johnston also placed sixth to earn honorable mention recognition.
