| 2007 Signings
The following is a list of all signings for the 2007 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Bode
signs with Mac
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Christopher Bode of Flagler, Colo., to a track
& field letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
A four year letter winner
in track & field at Flagler High School, the 6'4”, 265-pound
Bode was a double medalist at the 2006 Colorado state meet, placing
fourth in the shot put and sixth in the discus for coach Ivan Stahlecker.
Bode was Flagler HS' high
point performer his final two prep track & field seasons. He
was also named Flagler's Gatorade “Will to Win” track athlete of
the year.
Bode lettered two years in
basketball and received honorable mention all-conference honors
in football as a senior.
“We are very happy to announce
the signing of Chris,” said McPherson head track & field coach
Dave Smith. “When he visited last spring he seemed fit in well and
enjoyed the campus. He also came to one of our meets.”
“Chris started to improve
and his best throws are ahead of him if he continues to work hard
and keep his goals in focus.”
Throw coach Tim Wesselowski
added, “Chris got personal bests in both the discus and shot put
at the Colorado state meet; the most impressive was his 51'6” in
the shot put. This proved he can compete in the big meet.”
“I am looking forward to
helping Chris develop as he makes the transition to the college
implements. I believe he has the size to successfully make that
transition and continue to improve.”
Chris is the son of Carol
and Dale Bode of Flagler, Colo. Chris plans to major in physical
education at McPherson College with a career goal of teaching and
coaching.

Snell
to join Mac thinclads
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Cameron Snell of McFarland, Calif., to a track
& field letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'11”, 160-pound Snell
was a 4-year letter winner at McFarland High School in track under
coach Amador Ayon.

The East Sierra League champion
in the 110-meter hurdles, Snell was part of three ESL team championship
squads for the Cougars including 2006. Snell was recognized as the
Cougars' most improved performer and for the team's highest GPA.
“We are very pleased to announce
the signing of Cameron to a track & field letter of intent ,”
said McPherson head track & field coach Dave Smith. Cameron
is a true track & field athlete participating on the track in
the 110 high hurdles and participating in the field in the long
Jump and triple Jump.”
“He will add depth to each
of these events.”
“We look forward to having
him on campus as a student and an athlete. His family has strong
ties to McPherson College as his Grandfather (Galen Snell) was Dean
of Students when I was a student here and later President of the
College.”
“I appreciate Cameron's great
attitude and his work ethic and that attitude will take him far
in life.”
Cameron is the son of David
and Dana Snell of McFarland, Calif. He plans to major in biology
at McPherson College.

Moseley
signs with Mac
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Michael Moseley of Colorado Springs, Colo.,
to track & field letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'9”, 160-pound Moseley
competed just one year in track at Evangelical Christian Academy
in Colorado Springs , but lettered two years in hockey and one season
in baseball. He was selected varsity captain of the hockey team
his senior season.
“We are very happy to announce
the signing of Moseley,” said McPherson head track & field coach
Dave Smith.
“Michael is a very sincere
and positive young man that has had to overcome surgery this past
season. He is a very hard worker, and we feel that he will be back
up to par as a freshman at McPherson College.”
“We look forward to Michael
helping us in the sprints and relays.”
“Michael will be a very good
fit for the College, and he and his family well be a great addition
to our track family.”
Michael is the son of Gary
and Cheryl Moseley of Colorado Springs, Colo. He will be an auto
restoration major at McPherson College.

Inman's
Griffin signs with Mac
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Shaun Griffin of Inman, Kan., to cross country
and track letters of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'10”, 145-pound Griffin
has competed in track for the Teutons of Inman High School the past
four years, concentrating on the distance events at 1600 and 3200-meters.

Griffin is joined for his letter of intent signing by his parents

“Shaun is a runner with
great potential,” said McPherson head cross country and track coach
Dave Smith. “It will be interesting to see him develop and to see
what events he grows into. The additional distance of the college
events will give Shaun some new races to excel in.”
“Shaun will fit into our
campus community well. We are looking forward to watching the rest
of his outdoor track season this year, and then to have him as part
of the Bulldog program next.”
Shaun is the son of Tara
and Robert Griffin of Inman , Kan. . He plans to major in automotive
restoration/design technology at McPherson College .

Baldwin
's Brown signs with Bulldogs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of John Brown of Baldwin City, Kan., to football
and track letters of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
Brown was part of two Class
4A medal winning relays at last spring's KSHSAA state championships
for coach Mike Spielman as the Baldwin Bulldogs placed second and
fifth in the 4x400 and 4x100, and are currently among the state
leaders in both events again.
“John is a goal-oriented
runner that has great short-term and long-term goals,” added McPherson
head track coach Dave Smith. “This past weekend, he ran on Baldwin
's 4x100 and 4x400 relays that placed seventh at the KU Relays.”
“We look forward to having
John's attitude and work ethic as part of our Bulldog team.”
“John will be a great addition
to our campus community. We look forward to watching him reach his
goals this year and in his years at McPherson College.”
The 5'9", 165-pound
Brown was named to the All-Frontier League second team and honorable
mention All-Area by the Lawrence Journal-World his senior season.
In his final prep season under coach Mike Berg, he totaled over
800 yards rushing, 200 yards receiving and scored 13 touchdowns
while averaging 8.7 yards per touch.
“John has excellent speed
as evidenced by his strong performance on the track,” said McPherson
head coach David Cunningham. “His versatility throughout his high
school career, as he played four different positions, has made him
a well-rounded football player.”
“Here at McPherson, we plan
to play him at wide receiver and maybe some at tailback.”
“John is a very mature young
man and he impressed us a great deal with how thorough he was in
selecting his college home.”
“John is the type of student-athlete
we really want here at McPherson College.”
John is the son of David
and Twilla Brown of Baldwin City, Kan. He plans to major in business
administration at McPherson College.

Ortiz
signs on with Bulldogs
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Martin Chase Ortiz of Mansfield, Texas, and
Summit High School to track & field and football letters of
intent for the 2006-2007 school year.

Joining
Chase Ortiz for his letter of intent signing with McPherson College
are (front) his parents, Martin and Rachel Ortiz, and (back) David
Cunningham, McPherson College head football coach.
The 5'9”, 175-pound Ortiz
is a long sprinter in track, competing in the 200 and 400 meters,
and sprint relays.
“We are very happy to have
Chase sign with McPherson College ,” add Dave Smith, McPherson College
head track & field coach.
“Chase is a very good sprinter
and will also contribute to our relays.”
“We are pleased he has decided
to become part of our campus community.”
Ortiz was selected “New
Comer of the Year” and earned “All-Academic” honors during his prep
football career at Summit High School, which finished 9-3 and as
co-district champions in 2005.
“Chase has shown an ability
to make big plays on offense as well as on special teams,” said
McPherson head coach David Cunningham. “He has great speed and will
also participate in track here.”
“We are projecting him as
a wide receiver on offense and also possibly returning punts and
kick-offs.”
Chase is the son of Martin
and Rachel Ortiz of Mansfield, Texas. He plans to major in education
at McPherson College.

Hesston's
Lamb inks with Mac track & field
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Katelyn Lamb of Hesston, Kan., to a track
& field letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'6” Lamb was a member
of Hesston High's school record and 2005 state medalist 4x800 meter
relay team.

Lamb has just missed qualifying
for the state championships in the long jump her previous three
prep seasons during which she placed fourth, fifth, and third in
the Mid-Central Activities Association league meet.
“We are very pleased to have
Katelyn sign with us,” said McPherson head coach Dave Smith. “She
is a great student with a very good attitude and work ethic. She
will make a difference in our program as we move toward our long-term
goals.”
Lamb will be a Presidential
Scholar at McPherson College . She has been on the principal's honor
roll all four years and is a member of National Honor Society and
Future Business Leaders of America.
“I feel Katelyn will be a
great fit for the college and will be a great addition to our campus.”
“We will enjoy watching her
progress as this coming track season progresses, and look forward
to having her become part of our program next year.”
Lamb has also lettered in
volleyball and basketball for Hesston High School . In volleyball,
she was a two-year letter winner and 2005 team captain as well as
most valuable player. Following her senior season, Lamb was named
to the MCAA honorable mention all-league team.
Katelyn is the daughter of
Mike and Susan Lamb of Hesston. She plans to major in education.
