The following is a list of all signings for the 2009 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Williams
commits to Bulldog track & field
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Seth Williams of Davenport, Neb., to a track
& field letter of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.
The 6'5”, 205-pound Williams
has been a three-sport letter winner at Bruning-Davenport High School.
In addition to track, Seth has lettered in football and basketball.

Joining

Williams placed fifth at
last year's Class D Nebraska state meet in the high jump after finishing
fourth as a sophomore.
Captain of Bruning-Davenport's
state qualifying Class D2 basketball team, he was selected for post-season
all-star play following his senior season.
Williams was also a second
team all-league kicker in football.
“We are very pleased to announce
the signing of Seth Williams,” said McPherson head coach Dave Smith.
“Seth comes to us as a Nebraska state meet placer in the high jump.
An all-around athlete, he participates in several other events as
well as other sports.”
“Seth has the physical tools
to be a great jumper and has the desire to maximize the talents
he has been given.”
“Seth participates in many
activities in his high school as well as excelling in the classroom.
He is a Presidential Scholar and will be a great addition to our
campus. We welcome him to McPherson College and the Bulldog track
team.”
Seth is the son of Brad and
Barb Williams of Davenport, Neb. Williams plans to major in biochemistry.

Williams
signs with McPherson track and cross country
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Oliver Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah, and
Brighton High School to cross country and track & field letters
of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.
The 5'7” Williams has twice
been named Brighton High's most valuable performer in cross country.
He has also captained BHS' cross country and track teams.
This past fall, Oliver placed
8th at the 2007 Class 5A Utah State Cross Country Championships.
He competed in the Footlocker West Regional meet, then placed 19
th in the 2007 Youth Division of the USATF National Junior Olympic
Cross Country Championships held on Rim Rock Farm near Lawrence,
Kan., a year after finishing 15 th when the championships were held
in Spokane, Wash.
Entering the 2008 season,
Williams has posted times of 2:00 in the 800 meters, 4:30 in the
mile, and 9:54 in the two-mile.
“We
are very pleased to announce the signing of Oliver,”
said McPherson head coach Dave Smith. “ Oliver
brings several years of very competitive running into his final
season of high school competition.”
“His 8th place at last fall's
state cross country meet followed a spring where he was a state
finalist in the 800, 1600, and 3200-meter runs.”
“Oliver is an intense competitor
and brings a great work ethic and focus to his running. He has finished
in the top 20 at national cross country competitions this past winter,
boding well for his final season of high school track.”
“We welcome Oliver to the
McPherson campus community and to our teams, and look forward to
the contributions he will make to our programs and the campus as
a whole.”
Outside of track and cross
country, Williams has played soccer for the LaRoca premier soccer
club.
He is the son of Nash and
Ann Williams of Salt Lake City , Utah .
Williams will be joining
his sister, Whitney, at McPherson College, where she received honorable
mention All-American, All-KCAC, and NAIA All-Region recognition
as a midfielder for the Lady Bulldog soccer program this past fall.

Leuthold
signs with McPherson track
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Rachel Leuthold of Bern, Kan., to a track
& field letter of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.
The 5'5” Leuthold was the
2007 Class 1A state pole vault champion for Bern High School with
a clearance of 10'0”.
Rachel went on last summer
to place second at the Kansas AAU Junior Olympics, third at the
Missouri Valley and Region VIII AAU JO championships, and finally
tied for seventh at the National AAU Junior Olympics with a vault
of 10'6”. She set a personal best of 10'7” at the Region VIII meet
and ranked in the top 10 of Kansas prep girl vaulters for 2007.
Leuthold enters the 2008
season as the two-time Twin Valley League champion and TVL meet
record holder in the vault 10'1”.
Rachel holds the Bern school
record with a clearance of 10'2”.
“We are very pleased to announce
Rachel's signing to participate in women's track and field at McPherson
College ,” said McPherson head coach Dave Smith. “Rachel is a quiet
competitor who lets her performance speak for itself. She is the
defending 1A pole vault champion and will look to defend that title
this spring.”
“Rachel is a Presidential
Scholar and will be a great fit at McPherson College . We welcome
her to our track and field family and to the campus.”
Rachel is the daughter of
Jerry and Pam Leuthold of Bern , Kan. Rachel's father ran track
and cross country for Baker University in the early 1980's.
Leuthold plans to major in
graphic arts.

Parry
signs with McPherson track and cross country
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of David Parry of Morganville, Kan., and Clay
Center Community High School to cross country and track & field
letters of intent for the 2008-2009 school year.

Joining
David Parry for his letter of intent signing were (front) his parents
Craig and Terri Parry, along with (back) Clay Center coaches Paul
Lane, Tyler Nelson, J.D. Lane, and McPherson College head cross-country
and track & field coach Dave Smith.
The 6'3” Parry was a three-time
regional medalist and state meet qualifier in cross country, finishing
28th at the state championships his senior season. He was an academic
All-State selection in cross country and four-time All-North Central
Kansas League selection as a harrier.
Parry won the NCKL and regional
titles as a junior in the 800 meters plus contributed a leg to the
Tigers' regional champion 4x800 relay team. The 2007 NCKL champion
in the triple jump, David was a Class 4A state meet medalist in
both the 800 meters and the triple jump in addition to medaling
for a second time as part of CCCHS' 4x800 relay team.
David enters the 2008 track
& field season with personal bests of 2:00 in the 800 meters
and 43'4” in the triple jump.
“We are pleased to announce
that David will be joining our cross country and track programs
next fall,” said McPherson head coach Dave Smith. “David is the
type of young man we are looking for. He is a Presidential Scholar
plus he helped led Clay Center to a 7th place finish at the Class
4A state cross country meet last fall.”
“David participated in the
800 and 4x400 relays at the state track meet last spring for the
Tigers, and will be an integral part of their long sprint group
this spring.”
"David brings a quiet
competitive spirit to all he does, and we welcome him as a very
important part of our Mac Bulldog family next year.”
David is the son of Craig
and Terri Parry of Morganville, Kan. He plans to major in auto restoration
technology.

Harbour
signs with McPherson track & volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Allison Harbour of Elkhart, Kan., to track
& field and volleyball letters of intent for the 2008-2009 school
year.
In track & field, Allison
won All-High Plains honors as a junior when she placed 8th in the
Class 2A state meet 1,600 meters, and was named Elkhart 's “Most
Improved”.
This past fall, Harbour
placed second in the 2007 Class 2A state cross country meet. As
a junior, she was named the Wildcats' MVP.
The 5'7” Harbour was named
to the Hi-Plains all-league volleyball team as a senior after being
an honorable mention selection as a sophomore.

Joining
Alli Harbour for her letter of intent signing with McPherson College
were (front) McPherson track coach Dave Smith, Allison , and McPherson
volleyball coach Nathalea Stephenson along with (back, left) Lana
Daves, Elkhart volleyball coach, her parents Kevin and ReLinda Shook,
and Elkhart principal Rex Richardson.
“We are very happy to announce
the signing of Allison,” added Dave Smith, McPherson College head
track and cross country coach. “Alli is the kind of athlete and
person that will be successful at almost anything she puts her mind
to. In addition to participating in five sports, she is the student
council president at Elkhart High School .”
“Alli holds the school record
in cross country as well as the 1,600 meters, and has competed at
the state championship level.”
“Academically, Alli is a
McPherson College Presidential Scholar award winner. She will be
a great fit on our athletic teams as well as a great addition to
our campus!”
A letter winner in volleyball,
track & field, cross country, basketball, and softball as well
as cheerleading, Harbour was named the Wildcats' “Most Improved”
in basketball as a junior.
"Ali
is one of those athletes that will do whatever needs to be done
to improve her skills and help her team win games ,” said
Nathalea Stephenson, McPherson College head coach. “ At
Elkhart (High School), she played middle. For us, we will use her
either as a hitter or defensive specialist/libero.”
“Ali wants to learn, will
ask questions, and then work hard at mastering the skills,” Stephenson
continued. “She is also a very good student and knowing she needs
to work hard for her grades, she uses the same process on the court.
I believe McPherson College is a good fit for Ali; she will be successful
here. We are excited to have her apart of our team.”
Allison
is the daughter of ReLinda & Kevin Shook of Elkhart.
She plans to major in elementary education.
