Visiting Certified Athletic Trainers
On behalf of the Department of Athletic Training at McPherson College, we would like to welcome you to McPherson College for another great year. We look forward to your presence on our campus this coming school year. As always, we anticipate an exciting and safe year for all student-athletes and athletic training staff members. The athletic training room is located along the north wing of the Sports Center, in between the gymnasium and the football stadium. The athletic training room will be available for services beginning a minimum 1.5 hours prior to competition unless advance arrangements are made. If you would like more time, we would be glad to accommodate.
The following will be available in the athletic training room for your student-athletes:
- Hydrotherapy
- Electrical Stimulation
- Moist Heat Packs
- Ultrasound
- Ice Bags
- Taping Areas
The following will be available in ample supply for your locker room:
- Water/Cups
- Biohazard Necessities
- Heavy Duty 6ft Tables (FB)
- 2-Taping Tables (FB)
- Ice/Ice Bags (FB)
The following will be available in ample supply on your sideline/bench:
- Water/Cups
- Ice/Ice Bags
- 1-Treatment Table (FB)
- Biohazard Supplies
- Standard First Aid Supplies
- Heavy Duty 6ft Tables (FB)
We will also have an AED, full splint kit, and full spine board set readily accessible for use if needed. For football games, you will be provided with radio communication to our sideline. If you have any special requests, please let us know as early as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your medical needs.
For football games, we will have McPherson County EMS on-site and a team physician in attendance and available if necessary. Furthermore, Memorial Hospital is located within 5 minutes of campus, and we will assist you or your student-athletes in any way possible to ensure proper medical care.
We ask that you bring your own taping/bandage supplies needed for your student-athletes. If your team will be traveling without a certified athletic trainer for any event, we request a detailed listing of any significant treatments needed for your student-athletes. Please e-mail this list to hookers@mcpherson.edu no later than 1 day prior to your team’s arrival in McPherson.
