Mac spikers fall

McPherson College's volleyball team ended its season Thursday with a dual loss to Bethel.

The Threshers won the first two games 30-23 and 30-21, but the Bulldogs forced the issue to continue with a 30-27 win. Bethel then clinched the victory with a 30-18 victory.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs nearly doubled their victory total in Nathalea Stephenson's second year as head coach. After going 4-23 last year, the Bulldogs finished 7-19.

In the conference, the Bulldogs also showed improvement, going from 1-17 to 5-13. The highlight of the season came when they defeated Bethany in straight games, which happened to come on Parents Day.

The Bulldogs will return their entire team as they did not have a senior.
