MC spikers down CCC

McPherson College's volleyball team evened its record at 1-1 Monday with a straight-games victory over crosstown counterpart Central Christian College.

Mac captured 30-16, 30-24 and 30-17 victories.

"It was good to get a win going into conference play," McPherson coach Nathalea Stephenson said. "We did a much better job of serve receiving than we did Saturday. We had worked on hard on that."

Stephenson said Erica Alvarez had 13 kills and also had a good day serve receiving.

Mac opens KCAC play Wednesday hosting Kansas Wesleyan. For Central, this was its first match. It hosts Hesston Wednesday.
