The following is a list of signings for the 2006 season
starting with the most recent signing.
Hajek
joins Mac volleyball & tennis
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Allison Hajek of Omaha , Nebr., to volleyball
and tennis letters of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'2” Hajek lettered at
Omaha 's Benson High School in volleyball, tennis, and swimming
as well as Allison was named Benson's volleyball “Player of the
Year” in 2004 and was named “Defensive Player of the Year” her final
three seasons. As a senior, Hajek was credited with 30 ace serves,
302 digs, and 92 kills.

“Allison is one of those
players that you know will do whatever she needs to get to the ball,”
said McPherson head coach Nathalea Stephenson. “Her role at McPherson
College will be playing back row.”
“She is smart and reads the
hitters well. Allison also has a nice serve which is sometimes hard
to read by other players.”
“Allison is going to be a
great addition to our team and will bring a strong work ethic as
well. We are excited to have her as a Bulldog volleyball player
for the 2006 season.”
“We are excited Allison has
committed to McPherson College,” said J.D. Gravina, McPherson College
head tennis coach. “She will be a key component as we build the
tennis program from the ground floor.”
“She is very athletic, and
a lot of the skills that make her a good volleyball player also
cross over to tennis. She should contribute at both singles
and doubles for our team.”
Allison is the daughter of
John and Julie Hajek of Omaha , Nebr. She plans to major in elementary
education at McPherson College.

Shay
signs with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Jordan Shay of Healy, Kan., and Colby Community
College, to a volleyball letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school
year.
A 2004 graduate of Healy
High School, the 5'10” Shay was a three-time All Western Kansas
Liberty League selection in volleyball and twice an All-WKL pick
in basketball for the Lady Eagles of coach Ranae Baker. Jordan
also qualified for the state track & field championships her
senior season.

Joining
in on Jordan Shay's letter of intent signing were her parents Vance
and Dana Shay.
The past two years, Jordan
has played for Colby Community College under coach Pedro Gonzalez,
where she was a Dean's Honor Roll student and a member of Phi Theta
Kappa.
At McPherson College next
fall, Shay will be reunited with her Colby teammate Ashley
Wegener.
“Jordan comes to us from
Colby Community College and brings experience to our team at the
right side,” said McPherson head coach Nathalea Stephenson. “She
is a very aggressive player that can find the holes and put the
ball down.”
“Jordan is a smart player
and knows when to roll shot or hit the ball. She brings the ability
to play at a high level. She reads the hitters well and will be
an asset to our team.”
“Jordan is a very good student.
Her work ethic in the classroom carries over to the court. We have
been very fortunate that our recruits this year are only good, skilled
athletes, but also very good in the classroom.”
Jordan is the daughter of
Vance and Dana Shay of Healy , Kan. She plans to major in journalism
at McPherson College.

Mackay
inks with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Nicole (Nikki) Mackay of Peculiar, Mo., to
a volleyball letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.

Joining
Nikki Mackay for her signing with McPherson College were her parents

coach Nathalea Stephenson.
The 5'5” Mackay was a 2004
graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School and played the last two
years at Sterling College , where she was KCAC “Libero of the Year”
and first team All-KCAC as a freshman before earning second team
All-KCAC honors last fall.
“We are very please and
excited to have Nikki playing for us the next two years,” said McPherson
head coach Nathalea Stephenson. “She comes from a great program
under the direction of Coach VerSteeg at Sterling.”
“Nikki comes to us with experience
at the libero position which will make that area of our game stronger.”
“As a freshman, she the KCAC
“Libero of the Year”, and as a sophomore, was second team all-conference.”
“Nikki knows the game of
volleyball and is an excellent passer. She takes responsibility
for her passes, making sure she gives the setter the pass to put
her team in a position to score every time.”
“Nikki is a very hard worker,
not only in season, but out-of-season. She is constantly working
on her game, making sure she can read the hitter or pass off of
serve receive that will give her team different options in running
the offense.”
“The experience Nikki brings
to our team will help us be a better team and a stronger one.”
“We have great expectations
for her, and I know she is expecting even more from herself. She
is a team player and very unselfish as a player.”
In her two seasons as a Lady
Warrior, Mackay revised the Sterling record book for digs, including
a record 58 in a match.
Mackey received first team
all-conference, and second team All-District and All-Cass County
honors following her senior season at Raymore-Peculiar HS when she
also was named Female Athlete of the Year.
As a junior, Mackay was named
Raymore-Peculiar's “Gatorade Athlete of the Year” in addition to
being named honorable mention all-conference in both volleyball
and soccer.
Nicole is the daughter of
Stephen and Joanne Mackay of Peculiar, Mo. She plans to major in
exercise science and education at McPherson College.

Pangburn
inks with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Amanda Pangburn of Albertville , Alabama ,
and Geraldine High School to a volleyball letter of intent for the
2006-2007 school year.
The 5'8” Pangburn received
honorable mention All-State recognition her senior season after
being an All-County selection as a sophomore.

Morris (former Geraldine HS principal).
Pangburn led Geraldine
HS in blocks and digs, and posted an 86% attack ratio, 83% serving
and 90% setting rates.
“Amanda comes to us with
a very strong work ethic,” said McPherson head coach Nathalea Stephenson,
“and a desire to improve her skills and help the team improve. She
brings an attitude of wanting to get better.”
“Amanda is a middle that
has a strong hit and with more repetitions, will be able to cut
the ball and place it more effectively. She is also a good jump
server.”
“Amanda is also a very good
student and that work ethic shows on the court.”
“We are excited to have Amanda
as a part of our volleyball team next year.”
Amanda is the daughter of
Jeanette and Phil Roe of Albertville , Ala. She plans to major in
agriculture science at McPherson College .

Wegener signs with Mac
volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ashley Wegener of Norton, Kan., and Colby
Community College, to a volleyball letter of intent for the 2006-2007
school year.
The 5'8” Wegener graduated
from Norton High School in 2004 where she was a two-time Mid-Continent
honorable mention selection for coach Jill Lively.

Wegener is joined by McPherson College head coach Nathalea Stephenson

The past two years, Wegener
has played at Colby Community College for coach Pedro Gonzalez.
“Ashley comes to us with
experience at the middle position from Colby Juco,” said McPherson
head coach Nathalea Stephenson. “She and teammate Jordan Shay will
bring competitive and skill experience to our program.”
“Ashley is a hard working
individual and one that will help others around her improve their
skills as well. Not only is she hard working on the court
she is also an excellent student.”
“We are excited about having
a middle that will keep us strong at that position.”
Ashley is the daughter of
Bruce and Cindy Wegener of Norton, Kan. She plans to major in graphic
design at McPherson College.

Kreis
joins Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Taylor Kreis of Longmont, Colo., to a volleyball
letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'4” Kreis earned second
team All-Region and honorable mention All-Area honors as a setter
following her senior season at Longmont High School .

Her 680 assists as a senior
ranked fourth in Colorado . Kreis was credited with 23 solo blocks,
51 kills, 21 ace serves, and 169 digs in 85 games played for the
Longmont Trojans as a senior.
As a junior, Taylor totaled
350 assists, 102 digs, 50 kills, 21 total blocks, and 34 aces in
62 games.
“We are excited to have Taylor
as a Bulldog next year,” said McPherson head coach Nathalea Stephenson.
“She comes to us as a setter.”
“Taylor can run a varsity
of sets and that will be a strong asset to our program. She is a
coachable player, and as a setter, she has to know her hitters and
how they like to have the ball set.”
“When Taylor played in the
Elite Games, it was evident she could run an offense and get the
ball to her hitters.”
“We look forward to having
her on our team and helping us continue to build a strong volleyball
program.”
Also, a letter winner in
basketball for Longmont HS, Taylor is the daughter of Danielle and
Brent Vandiver of Longmont , Colo. She plans to major in education
at McPherson College .

Kramer
joins Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Chelsie Kramer of Atwood, Kan., and Rawlins
County High School, to a volleyball letter of intent for the 2006-2007
school year.

The 5'11” Kramer received
All-Northwest Kansas League first team honors as a senior after
being named to the All-NWKL honorable mention squad as a junior.
Kramer was named Rawlins
High's “Most Valuable Player” following the 2005 season during which
she led the Lady Buffs in aces (39), kills (164), stuff blocks (75),
and assisted blocks (69).
Following her senior season,
Kramer was named to the Northwest Kansas All-Star team and received
All-Area honors from both the McCook (Nebr.) Gazette and Salina
Journal.
“Chelsie is a middle hitter
that can run a variety of hits,” said McPherson head coach Nathalea
Stephenson. “It will be good to have another middle that understands
the game and can run slides as well as quicks, and can place the
ball.”
“Chelsie is a smart player
that reads well and will definitely help us in the middle spot.
She has good footwork and blocks well. This is an area we care focusing
on and to have Chelsie as a part of out program will help make that
position stronger.”
“We are very excited about
having Chelsie in red and white next year.”
An all-around athlete, Kramer
received all-league honors in basketball as a junior when she was
also received Salina Journal All-Area and Topeka Capital-Journal
All-Class 2A recognition. She also qualified for the state track
& field championships in the discus.
Chelsie is the daughter of
Richard and Kim Kramer of Atwood, Kan.. She plans to major in pre-physical
therapy.

Loesch
inks with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Kiley Loesch of Raymond, Kan., and Lyons High
School, to a volleyball letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school
year.

Kiley
Loesch is joined for her letter of intent signing with McPherson
College by her parents (front) Valerie and Kent Loesch, along with
(back) Lyons HS coach Jodi Oakley and McPherson College headcoach
Nathalea Stephenson.
A three-time All-Mid-Central
Activities Association selection, the 5'7” Loesch was named to Class
3A All-State Tournament team and second team All-State as a junior.
Following her senior season,
Kiley was named to the Hutchinson News All-Area Class 3A first team.
Loesch put away 287 kills
as a junior and 251 her senior season. She was credited with 46
ace serves, 101 digs, and 90.5% passing on 603 attempts as a senior
after posting 35 aces, 148 digs, and 90.5% passing on 568 attempts
as a junior. As a sophomore, Kiley was credited with 132 kills,
66 digs, and 9 aces.
Captain of the Lady Lions
volleyball team her junior and senior seasons, Loesch was a qualifier
as a freshman and sophomore for the state track & field championships.
As a sophomore, she set a Lyons school record in the 100 meter high
hurdles with a time of 15.7.
“We have been watching Kiley
since she was a freshman in high school,” said McPherson head coach
Nathalea Stephenson. “The first time we saw her was at a club tournament
at the college and we knew that she was going to be a very good
hitter; one that we wanted on our team.”
“Kiley can see the floor
really well and places the ball well. She is the type of player
that wants to be the ‘go to' player and has confidence that she
can put the ball down or want to be at the line serving because
she knows that her serve will be in and possibly an ace.”
“We will probably be moving
her to the outside because of her height, even though she played
middle in high school.”
Kiley is the daughter of
Kent and Valerie Loesch of Raymond, Kan. She plans to major in graphic
design at McPherson College.

Hesston's
Jost inks with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Ashlee Jost of Hesston, Kan., to a volleyball
letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.

Joining
Ashlee Jost for her letter of intent signing are her parents (front)
Diane and Kent Jost, along with (back) McPherson College coach Nathalea
Stephenson and Hesston HS coach Jason Peters.
The 5'9” Jost was named
to the All-Mid-Central Activities Association team following the
2005 season. Ashlee averaged 2.29 kills and 1.02 blocks per game
was also selected to all-tournament teams at Clearwater and Canton-Galva.
She was also an honorable selection to the Hutchinson News all-area
team.
Jost has also lettered in
basketball and track at Hesston High where she has been a cheerleader
for three years.
“Ashlee is the type of front
row player every coach likes to have on their team,” said McPherson
head coach Nathalea Stephenson. “She sees the court well and has
an attack attitude at the net.”
“We will likely move Ashlee
from the middle to the outside. Ashlee understands what a middle
(hitter) needs when it comes to setting the block with the outside
blocker. She will provide that skill for us . ”
“Ashlee is a smart player
and will keep the ball in play, either by rolling, tipping or using
an off-speed, if she needs to.”
“We are excited to have a
player on our team with those qualities.”
Ashlee is the daughter of
Kent and Diane Jost of Hesston. She plans to major in biology at
McPherson College with a career goal in either physical therapy
or as a physician's assistant.

Hesston's
Mast signs with Mac volleyball
McPherson College has announced
the recent signing of Sonia Mast of Hesston , Kan., to a volleyball
letter of intent for the 2006-2007 school year.
The 5'6” Mast received Hesston
High's “Coach's Award” in 2005 after being named the Lady Swathers'
MVP in 2003 and 2004.
Mast was named to the Mid-Central
Activities Association honorable mention squad at the conclusion
of the 2005 season.

Sonia
Mast is joined in her letter of intent signing by her parents (front)
Jerry and wanda Mast, along with (back) Hesston HS coach Jason Peters
and McPherson College coach Nathalea Stephenson.
During the 2005 season,
Sonia served with a 90% efficiency with 60 aces, picked up 47 digs,
and posted an 81% serve receiving efficiency.
“Sonia is one of the earliest
recruits we have ever signed,” said McPherson head coach Nathalea
Stephenson. “She is one of those players that will work hard for
you everyday.”
“With her work ethic and
an attitude that matches, I know she will bring a lot to our team.”
“Sonia is a back row player
with the desire to give the best possible pass to the setter. She
is one that knows in order for your offense to go, it starts with
a pass.”
“We are very excited to have
Sonia join our team.”
Sonia is the daughter of
Jerry and Wanda Mast of Hesston. She plans to major in business
at McPherson College .
