McPherson College is committed to providing a career-oriented liberal arts education. This means “career” must be integrated into McPherson College’s mission to “develop whole persons through scholarship, participation and service”. Career Services in partnership with the McPherson College.

Scholarship and career were aligned as a revised seminar system within our curriculum, which includes aspects of career and leadership training. Participation is central to our efforts as nearly 87% of our students participated in a field experience or internship prior to graduation in 2006.

Our focus has been to engage all students in experiences that enhance their skills and prepare them for life after McPherson College. Whether it is a resume workshop, protocol dinner, physical therapy internship or service on the Leadership McPherson Board of Directors, students at McPherson College will redefine the traditional liberal arts education.

Nearly 50% of all McPherson College students participated in either a field experience or internship like Biochemistry major, Joe Blas, who participated in a ten-week research program at the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases.
