Spring Band Concert
The McPherson College Band will Livestream its Spring Concert online Sunday, March 28 at 4 p.m. The concert features the college band’s wind ensembles, jazz ensemble, and steel drum ensemble. Among other standards, the two wind ensembles will be playing new compositions written specifically for smaller instrumentation ensembles during COVID-19.
Along with some masterworks by Grainger and Vaughan Williams, the wind ensembles will feature the new compositions “Havana Nights” by Randall Standridge and “Gambol” by Jack Stamp. The jazz band will perform “Saxomania” by Rich Woolworth featuring the saxophone section and “Road Song” by Wes Montgomery. The steel drum ensemble will feature original compositions by our adjunct percussion instructor Brad Shores.
