BCA: Cuba

Slide Show: Images of Cuba

Language prerequisite: Intermediate Spanish
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.2

At the University of Pinar del Río, U.S. students will learn about Cuban culture and history. The courses offered to the BCA students will encompass a wide variety of subjects such as Cuban-Latin American relations, Cuban foreign policy, literacy, gender and race in Cuba, and politics of the revolution. The experience at University of Pinar del Río is a true immersion, as the number of Americans is limited to the students from BCA who will live in dormitories with university students. BCA will arrange for students to visit Havana, the capital of Cuba, for further educational and cultural opportunities. Studying with BCA in Cuba promises to foster understanding of our neighbor to the south.

Special Offer to students who have studied for a semester or a year at BCA Study Centers. Because of the limited number of U.S. citizens allowed to travel to Cuba, BCA students will only be able to study there for a month during the summer. Students who have studied for a semester or a year at any BCA Study Center will be offered a discount of one-half of the tuition to study for the summer in Cuba. Completion of two years of Spanish is required for admission.
