Welcome to our club!

McPherson College Rotaract Engaged in Many Activities
Under the leadershup of Rotarian Ocie Kilgus, the McPherson College Rotaract chapter hosted its first speaker of the semester in September - a representative of the American Red Cross. The adopted a local project with the Red Cross of working at the blood drives, and are already volunteering. Rotaractors also helped out at the Scottish Festival, as pictured here.

What is Rotaract?
Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Rotaract is an international program of Rotary International for young professionals ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference in the world. There are 163,000 members of approximately 7,088 Rotaract clubs in 151 countries.

What are the goals of Rotaract?
1. Recognize, practice, and promote ethical standards such as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities, while developing professional and leadership skills.
2. Learn about the needs and opportunities of local and global communities.
3. Serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill.

What does a Rotaract club do?
Rotaract clubs organize a variety of projects and activities, depending primarily on the interests of the club members. However, within the Rotaract program, all clubs undertake three types of activities in varying degrees: professional development, leadership development, and service projects. Possible project areas include: children at risk, disabled persons, health care, international understanding and goodwill, literacy, population issues, poverty and hunger, preserving planet earth, and urban concerns.

Why join a Rotaract club?
Today’s young people will become tomorrow’s parents, professionals, business leaders, and community leaders. With the help of programs like Rotaract, you can gain the tools and skills necessary to develop into responsible and productive members of society. Rotaract can instill in its members life skills that can be shared with others for generations to come.

You have the power to help people in your community and around the globe.
As a volunteer, you can make a difference!
