The Dayton Rothrock Teacher Education Alumni Fellow
About the award
This award will be granted annually to a McPherson College graduate from the teacher education program. Nominees may be currently serving as an educator or have retired after many years of service to the profession. The awardee will be invited to participate in and honored with recognition at various campus and homecoming events, such as speaking to various teacher education classes, and a luncheon or reception.
Criteria For Selection
Candidates for the award must exemplify the qualities identified in the mission statement of the teacher education program. The nominator will provide examples and personal illustrations of the following:
- Being service-oriented
- Effectively blending the art & science of teaching
- Knowing what and how to teach so that all learners can be successful
- Using best practices to meet the needs of all learners
- Being collaborative—with students, parents and other educators
To Nominate a Person for the Award
We welcome nominations of any deserving graduate from McPherson College’s teacher education program. Nominations may be made by anyone—a fellow alumni, a faculty member, or even a colleague or friend who is not an alumnus of the college.
All nomination forms will be archived for two years. A person who is nominated but not chosen may receive the award in the following year. Nominations are ongoing.
