The
extremely rich oral history relating to McPherson College's quality
Teacher Education Program is laced with the success stories of our graduates and the commitment to integrity that the department
and unit demands.
The academic programs in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction ensure that teacher education candidates emerge with the required knowledge base and the ability to apply and transfer this knowledge to diverse audiences. Graduates of these programs are prepared to receive their Kansas Teacher’s License.
If you are interested in teaching younger children, you'll complete our professional educational sequence and major in Elementary Education.
For those wishing to teach at the secondary level, you’ll complete a major in your content area and also complete the professional education sequence.
The coursework associated with the English as a Second Language and/or the Special Education endorsement at the K-6 and 6-12 levels may also be completed. This allows additional endorsement to your license.
