Automotive Restoration Technology majors have five options to consider when pursuing a four-year degree at McPherson College:

  • Historic Automotive Technology
  • Automotive Restoration Management
  • Automotive Communications
  • Automotive Restoration Design
  • Automotive Restoration Technology
  • These majors combine a liberal arts foundation, core auto restoration courses, and upper level courses unique to the selected major.

    Internships with outstanding restoration shops and museums are available to many students to enhance their educational experience and to explore career options.

    Bachelor of science degree graduates have a thorough understanding of the major technological systems of the automobile and authentic antique automobile restoration materials, methods, and techniques. they demonstrate proficiency in the use of the materials and tools necessary to complete authentic automobile restoration work and have the attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a successful automotive restoration career in their area of concentration.

     

     

    Course Requirements

    TECHNOLOGY MAJOR
    Technology students at McPherson College are encouraged to take courses in any of three areas: visual communications, materials and processes, and power and energy. McPherson College offers a unique degree program of authentic auto restoration technology emphasizing hands-on skills and historical research. This program results in a unique departmental blend of contemporary technology and traditional craftsmanship.

    TECHNOLOGY MINOR
    Minimum of 18 credit hours of non-restoration TE courses (including G-TE 333 Technology and Society 4 hours), approved by one technology faculty advisor of 4-year programs, in consultation with the student's major advisor.
