Steel Magnolias

Four local women will be featured in the McPherson College production “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling. Janette Hess, Mary Hughes, Karlene Tyler, and Jenny Williams will portray a story about strength and love exhibited by a close-knit group of friends. College students Akeisha Kaufman, Moundridge, and Rebecca Stover, Quinter, will also join the cast.

“Steel Magnolias” is directed and designed by Dr. Rick Tyler, professor of theatre, with Dr. Nancy Pennell, assistant professor of theatre, serving as dramaturg. Student crew members include Lois Davidson, Mt. Ida; Nick Griggs, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Amanda Harkness, Hays; Jenny Harper, Grimes, Iowa; Dan Hudacheck, Stillwater, Minn.; Janell Klenke, Dodge City; Nathan Porter; Quinter; Jen Schuyler, Tulsa, Okla.; and McPherson residents Brandt Busse, Althea Harding, Amanda Snell, and Becky Snell.
