Mental Health Resources Available to Students
McPherson College works with Client Centered Counseling, a full-licensed practice in McPherson, to provide counseling services on-campus, at its downtown location, and in the event of crisis. Student fees include four free counseling sessions each year. The best way for students to contact a counselor is by calling (620) 241-2300 or contact any student affairs staff member in the Royer Center or Res Life Office (lower level of student union) or by visiting the on-campus office in Harter Hall. McPherson College cares about the mental and physical health of students. Read about its plans for a new Student Health Center below.
One of the pillars of a McPherson College education is Service. Students are given many opportunities to serve others in our community. For example, one Saturday each month students are invited to volunteer at the local “Re-Use It” center, or as pictured here students recently volunteered at the local animal shelter.
McPherson College Career Services is excited to announce the implementation of Handshake as our career development resource. Handshake enables students to connect with literally thousands of employers from around the country when searching for part time work, internships, or full time positions. Students will be introduced to the system later in the semester and we look forward to helping students achieve their career objectives. Students can stop by the Career Services office in Miller Library or contact Kevin Mokhtarkian, director of career & experiential learning.

Free Laundry is a service students have asked for and now received thanks to MC’s Student Government Association. All coin-operated machines were converted over winter break and are being funded through SGA.
Showing You Care
Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to show your student how much you care when they are away from home. For students, really anytime is a great time to receive a care package from home. Here’s the best way to send your package: Student Name/McPherson College/1600 E. Euclid St./McPherson, KS 67460. And, there’s a fun idea below from a mom who organized care packages for her student and her friends.
