Arriving on Campus

The process for new and returning students arriving on campus for Fall 2020.

Before arriving to campus

Pre-screening
Quarantining
  • Do you need to quarantine? McPherson College will follow the KDHE Travel & Exposure Related Isolation guidelines to determine travel related isolation for students. Please check before coming to campus as the locations on the list may change.
  • If you ARE NOT coming from a location listed on the KDHE site you are not required to self-quarantine.
  • If you ARE coming from one of those locations you will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days before you are able to attend classes, athletic practices, or activities. You will be contacted by a staff member from the college to discuss your options for self-quarantine.Options include, but are not limited to:
    • Arriving to campus 14 days early and self-quarantining in your residence hall room,
      OR
    • Self-quarantining in your home state for 14 days prior to your departure to campus with additional guidelines. If this option is chosen you will be required to complete the Self-Quarantine Acknowledgement form and email back to studentlife@mcpherson.edu and complete daily tracking of possible symptoms and temperature.
Best Practices before you get here

We’re all in this together!
McPherson College suggests that all students, no matter where they are coming from, consider self-quarantining for 14 days before arriving to campus to help us ensure a good start to the semester. This includes limiting your exposure to crowds, wearing a mask when six-feet social distancing is not possible and continuing to follow personal hygiene guidelines.

Enrollment & Housing

If you still need help with enrolling for classes or determining your housing, please email ask@mcpherson.edu for help.

Checking-in

What to Expect

To help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread during the move-in process, all students should expect:

  • The Pre-screening questionnaire is verified
  • The Health & Safety Agreement is signed
  • To undergo health and safety training
  • To maintain six-feet social distancing when possible
  • Face masks are mandatory on campus both indoors and outdoors. The college will provide one cloth face mask for each student and disposable masks will be available in classrooms.
  • Modified move-in schedules and procedures to reduce traffic and density
  • Staggered arrival and drop-off times for furniture and belongs
  • Limit of two non-resident participants per student at any one time
  • No visits from students from other residence halls
  • To observe any quarantine rules or warning in the residence halls
