Bulldog artistry abounds in our #throwbackthursday - MC 1893 vs MC 2015.
In the first illustration (if you can’t quite make out the text), the caption reads: “Main Building, in course of construction, drawn with pen by a student in the Pen Art Department; taken from architect’s plan.” Dated Aug 25, 1893.
The second illustration was designed by 2015 Graphic Design major, Kevin Aka, while interning in the marketing department at MC. Can you make out all of the buildings featured? @ McPherson CollegeImage attachment

The rendering of Sharp hall is very interesting. The building remained unfinished for many years after its initial construction because the College ran out of money. The first floor was completed and then tar papered over until the rest of the funds could be found. The architectural design obviously changed to suit the style of the time, changing from a more Gothic Tudor style to something slightly more modern. It’s interesting to see how the building retained the two front entrances though the plans for the dormers were scrapped and modified into a single tower.

What does Marty Sigwing, MC's Director of Facilities, have in common with Jade Throneberry, a 16 year old from New Mexico? A lot, actually!

The Throneberry family has been enjoying all McPherson has to offer the past three weeks while attending MC's Automotive Restoration Summer Institute. Marty teaches one of the class offerings, 3D Modeling and Printing, and has come to know the Throneberry family. As an avid clawhammer banjo player, when he discovered Jade to be a bluegrass fiddler, a jam session was bound to occur.

Without further ado...
