The McPherson College Student Debt Project provides an opportunity to students to graduate from McPherson College with minimal debt while learning important financial skills intended to benefit them after they graduate. This project is intended for students who may be unable or hesitant to take out significant loans but are committed to their education at McPherson College and to working while in college. The goal is for students to graduate with less than $10,000 in student loan debt.
Successful candidates are able to commit to the following
- Willing and able to work up to 1300 hours per year. Students may have the opportunity to use this as a Career Connection credit.
- Attend one workshop per semester that focuses on financial planning; resume and interview skills and other life skills.
- Meet regularly with a mentor
- Commitment to academic success
