McPherson College’s Department of Art and Design seeks a qualified instructor to teach Drawing I during the Spring 2021 semester, beginning January 28. The successful candidate will be able to fulfill requirements to teach a 2-credit hour, introductory class on the techniques and aesthetics of drawing from observation (still life, beginning portrait) with an emphasis on the exploration and application of basic design principles (contrast, composition). A variety of media needs to be introduced, including pencil, ink, charcoal, and conté crayon. An important aspect is for the students to experience and understand the difference between the descriptive and the expressive use of line.
Compensation: Commensurate with credentials
