McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Facilities. This is a full-time, 12-month, college benefits-eligible, exempt position that reports to the Director of Facilities. The Assistant Director of Facilities is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operations of the Facility Management department and providing leadership to its employees. The focus for this position is the efficient maintenance and operation of the college’s facilities, supervision of the maintenance and ground technicians, coordination of the department budget and reports, collaboration of all college safety compliance, serves as Emergency Response Team chair, and coordinates all fire alarm inspections and testing. This employee is also responsible for the college’s EPA compliance, coordinates special event set up, and is the college’s hazardous waste coordinator.
Minimal qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Outlook email, and the ability to read blueprints. In addition, the successful candidate will be courteous and professional with their customer service skills and will have good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred. In lieu of a degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience may be substituted.
Five years of relevant mechanical and HVAC experience is required to include at least five years of direct supervision.
The ability to do physical tasks that exert moderate physical effort (50 to 75 lbs.)
