McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Director of Academic Advising and Student Success for a nationally recognized Great College to Work For. This is a 12-month, full-time position with a generous benefits package, including full tuition remission after two years of employment and retirement contribution. This position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Director of Academic Advising and Student Success leads in academic development and advising. A key responsibility is the design, implementation, and oversight of a new academic advising model. As an integral part of the campus retention focus, this position is also responsible for a comprehensive program that promotes and enhances academic development for all students. The director will also oversee all academic accommodations for students.

The Director of Academic Development supervises four professional advisors in addition to the Coordinators of the Writing Center, Student Success, and Athletic Academic Success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and master’s degrees are required.
  • Teaching experience and managing a team are preferred.
  • Experience with managing academic accommodations and familiarity with regulations of academic accommodations is preferred.
  • Administrative experience in secondary or post-secondary institutions preferred.

The basic work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position will also require evening and weekend hours to accommodate student schedules for tutoring or other activities.

Compensation:  Salary based on qualifications.
