McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Director of Athletics Facilities and Game Operations. This is a full-time, 12-month, college benefits-eligible, exempt position that reports to the college’s Athletic Director.  College benefits include full tuition remission after 2 years of employment and an exceptional retirement benefit after 1 year of employment.

The Director of Athletics Facilities and Game Operations focuses on elevating the fan and student athletic experience for all of McPherson College sporting events.   This position is responsible for supervising athletic facilities and event operations, including team travel, daily operations, maintenance/repair, and the management of home competitions and community facility rentals.  Supervises the daily operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of all athletic facilities, both indoor and outdoor, and identifying/creating service requests and work orders.  In this role, there is an expectation of lawn/field care and preparation including mowing, trimming, dirt work, moving/lifting of heavy materials, field striping and minor repairs of turf surfaces.

In conjunction with Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Directors, assesses staffing needs and schedules appropriate staffing for set up and breakdown of all intercollegiate athletic events at all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities. Assists in the recruitment, training and supervision of all student employees working games as well as other athletic facility duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree by application date;
Minimum one year of experience in athletics, game management and/or event coordination;
Experience with managing/organizing (student) personnel;
Experience with facility maintenance;
Effective communication (oral, written and interpersonal) skills;
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
Demonstrated computer application skills (MS Office, Google Suite, etc.);
Ability to work nights and weekends with occasional overnight travel.
The ability to lift, push and pull 50 to 75 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in sports management or related field;
Administrative and operations experience in a collegiate setting;
Experience with planning preventative and ongoing field maintenance;
Experience with supervising (student) personnel.
